所谓文化苦旅，是文化在时间空间上的运动关系。但文化怎能是苦的呢？苦的是这段旅程，背负这段旅程的人。
文化慢慢相融，磨合，剔除，隐没，放大，添加，这段旅程是艰苦的。而这些历程掺杂在历史古迹和历史人物的经历中，这些是人文山水，也是文化历史。如<莫高窟》一文中有余先生说“看莫高窟，不是看了一千年的标本，而是看活了一千年的生命。”以人类的几大文明为背景，一代代的佛像都在石窟里深刻而又通俗地端庄着，微笑着，快乐着，行动着，苦涩着，牺牲着。渐渐地，这一切都与中华历史接通了脉，甚至成了一部坚石雕刻的历史。依照时间顺序把莫高窟的历史一一介绍，只缓缓陈述事实，却能分明感觉到笔耕的沉重和深刻的思想。
苦的是背负着一段旅程的人。文化的一切改变，都将由人作为主体来承受。读这一字一句，都想面对面地感受他们呻吟的哀叹和遗憾。如书中提到的康熙皇帝，因农耕文明和游牧文明的交融，成就了一代政治家精神的强健，也成就了一代霸业。处理复杂的西藏事务和蒙古事务，解决治理黄河、淮河和疏通漕运等重大问题。而如同刘宗同、傅山、李颙等誓反清的文人，中华文化的厚度不止带来自豪感，还有更多的厚重感。这种文化的历程便是伤害，他们拼命护守正统的那份热，便会成为束缚与桎梏，是浮于表面而不可回避的痛。能有这样一群人，是汉文化洋洋自得的一面，也是这位历史老人走向尽头的征兆。
又如多篇提及的贬官文化也苦了一代又一代人。遭贬，最惨的结果便是流放。作者是这样说的：“与相比，流放是一种长时间的折磨。了倒也罢了，可怕的是人还活着，种种残忍都要用心灵一点点去消受，这就比都繁难了。”这是人治社会的恶果。“残忍，对统治者来说，首先是一种恐吓，其次是一种快感。越到后来，快感的成分越多。这就变成了一种心理毒素，扫荡着人类的基本尊严。”上至大文豪苏东坡，下至不能道出姓名的清朝老人，无一能够逃出贬官的摧残，这种身心所承受的痛苦，也许我们一辈子也不会理解。但一种文化现象，好处是绝不会少的。苏东坡在编址黄州期间，“经历了一次整体意义上的脱胎换骨”得益于这样的冷落，使他的艺术才能获得一次蒸馏与升华。在黄州，诞生了《念奴娇·赤壁怀古》前、后《赤壁赋》等千古名篇。而清朝被贬至宁古塔的清朝官员，则通过自身的升华，“创造了一个味道浓厚的精神世界”一定程度上影响了东北人豪爽的性格的形成。
这一段段文化苦旅，令无数中华儿女自信自豪，其中当然有彷徨和失落甚至是屈辱，可我们中国人善于苦中作乐，善于在苦难中创造奇迹，我们不害怕苦难，但并不表示我们欢迎、赞美苦难。我们要开创更美好、更让国人自豪的时代。
轻轻拂去历史造就的尘埃，用心灵去感受传统精神文明带来的浓厚气息的底蕴，再去寻求传统文化更好的发展。才是《文化苦旅》带来的最美好的感悟。

从滚滚黄沙的沙漠边塞，到秀丽清澈的江南小镇，作者把每一个地方描绘的惟妙惟肖，同样也让我感受到中国源远流长的人为文化，每一个地方都散发着它独特的魅力。从《道士塔》，《阳关雪》中，让我看到了黄河礼貌的兴衰，写出了历史的深邃苍凉。《江南小镇》开始的那一段描述，让我仿佛看到了那小桥流水的景象。凭借丰富的文化感悟力与艺术表现力，再现了匿藏于时间底端的深刻思考，开展了一场山水风物与历史精灵的远距对话。
余秋雨先生在书中说：“文人似乎注定要与苦旅联在一齐。”我想这或许是这本书叫做《文化苦旅》的原因吧。在山水解读历史，在历史中解读文化，在文化中看透山水，让自我的心灵也受到文化的熏染，精神的洗礼。在读这本书的时候，我深深地感受到了作文深厚的文化底蕴和写作功底，在他笔下，莫高窟，都江堰，藏书阁都是如此的与众不一样，在他笔下，那些过往的历史，就像是一幅凄美的画卷。“对历史的多情总会加重人生的负载，由历史沧桑感到引发出人生沦桑感。”每个人的一生对于自我来说也是一段历史，当我们走过一段路时，停下来回过头看看自我曾走过的足迹，总会有着这样或那样的遗憾，而我们也在这遗憾中，坎坷中寻找这人生的真谛，这便是我读《文化苦旅》获得的最强烈的感受。或许，我还未完全领悟作者的深意。或许，我还未真正读透这本书的内涵。然而，《文化苦旅》一齐苦苦的悲怆奏响了时代的绝响，警世亦憾人!

星期天，妈妈有事出去，我做完作业，闲着没事干，就帮妈妈打扫起家务。
我先用一块湿毛巾擦窗户，我左擦，右擦，上擦，下擦，可还是擦不干净，我灵机一动，用洗衣粉不就行吗？于是我用洗衣粉的水把毛巾浸湿，又开始擦起来，果然不出我所料，真的比原来干净许多，可是上面我总觉的还有几道白色的条纹，我又用一块干毛巾擦起来，经过一番努力，窗户变得又干净又明亮，终于擦完。
然后，我再用一块含有洗衣粉水的湿毛巾去擦桌子，我原以为桌子上没上面脏东西，可使劲一擦，却有一处很难擦的油渍，我左思右想，就是想不出对付它的方法。突然，我又想气洗洁精，我挤一点，涂在清洁球上，用力擦几下，咦？油渍真得不见，我擦完桌子，又急急忙忙地去拖地。
我把拖把撒上几点洗衣粉，在放到水里浸蚀，我用拖把绕着正方形的样子拖起来，没几分钟就搞定
啊！想想干家务活多累呀，不止这一天，妈妈每天都这样子，我应该帮妈妈分担一下，但我也一定要好好学习，将来做一个有出息的人！

刚开始翻开目录看到都是讲的国内或者国外的景点。自己也是爱旅游的人，所以抱着好奇的态度看完了整本书。
读完整本书回想起来，发现自己印象最深的只有两个地方。其一是刚开始的寺庙，“长亭外，古道边，芳草碧连天，晚风拂柳笛声残，夕阳山外山；天之涯，蒂指教，知交半零落，一壶浊酒尽余欢，今宵别梦寒.......”，一首《送别》勾起了多少青春回忆，每每听到这首歌，总是有种莫名的心酸，好像就应该落泪才能对得起这首歌的意境。也是在此，我才知道这首诗是李叔同写的，人称弘一法师。
其二是在写苏东坡文字狱的时候，也就是乌台诗案。看完整个案件的过程，对苏东坡莫名的感到心疼。或许我们现在的人只记得苏东坡的诗，记得“大漠孤烟直，长河落日圆”，记得“十年生两茫茫，不思量，自难忘”。从早前意气风发的诗词风格到晚年诗词的粗犷，心酸，无奈。一个莫须有的罪名，一场莫须有的案件，削平了一个人多少的棱角。在那大漠孤烟直的地方，还会有人记得这个才华横溢的诗人吗？这个故事也让我看到人性的邪恶，也是整个社会甚至是当代社会都存在的弊端。
社会上总有些人嫉妒那些才华比自己好，成就比自己高的人，总会想方设法捏造些罪名强加于他人身上。大部分分不清是非黑白的人，总喜欢跟风，认为反正不危及到我自身的利益，那么跟随大流踩一踩也是可以的。舆论的压力，社会的压力迫使当权者不得不流放自己看重的人，可想而知这个社会风气该是如何的令人悲伤。慎思，慎行，慎言，六个大字，应该学会如何做人。
整本书都在讲景点，也在讲文化，文化附着在这些建筑，这些风景里。文化的成败对于一个国家的兴亡真的很重要。文化的形成在几百年甚至几千年的积淀，但是毁灭往往在一瞬。
