像孙涛、邵峰、刘亚津都是春晚常客，之所以选择如此多的喜剧大咖出演《青年旅舍》，是因为要营造一种轻松的喜剧氛围，突出轻喜剧的定位。而他们都是观众所喜爱和熟知的喜剧明星，容易被观众所接受，和年轻的演员搭戏可以更好的调动表演情绪。当然，有的演员并不是喜剧演员，演员与角色的贴合度是一个重要原因。像矢野浩二，在剧中饰演一名“鬼子专业户”，剧中角色的经历和他太相似了，可以说这个角色就是给他量身打造的，所以他很容易理解这个角色。
像剧中的年轻演员，沈浩、宫海滨、赵圆圆、张圣岳、金珊等，虽然目前名气不大，但是他们塑造角色非常用心。选角的时候考虑了很多，综合了人物性格、外貌特征、行为举止等多种因素，最终定下了现在的这些演员。
举个例子，为什么选择李金铭和赵圆圆饰演菲菲和唐小唯呢?知道，剧中这两个角色其实是一个人，只不过唐小唯是整容之后的形象。
在选演员的时候就要考虑两点：第一，形象上要不同。
因为太像用一个演员演的.话麦田认不出来就不合理。第二，还要有相同之处。
先选择了赵圆圆饰演唐小唯，后来发现李金铭的脸型、特别是酒窝，和赵圆圆特别像，酒窝的位置、深浅就跟一个似的，就决定演菲菲的演员非李金铭莫属。几经周折，李金铭才调出了档期，现在看，效果还不错。可以说，《青年旅舍》中用的演员虽然不是国内一线明星，但都是适合这个戏的。
