these young people are wrong. in my opinion every student should have a knowledge of housework. after all, they will have a family of their own, and they should do their part in keeping a good home. boys should also learn to do housework, for what will they do if they remain single? though not all boys remain single, yet they will be very helpful in the family if they know some housework. anyhow they will not lose anything, but, on the contrary, they will gain something useful.
for what i said above, we can find some eamples of our fellow-students studying abroad. all young men do housework as girls do. someone would argue that we can employ servants. this is true. however, what shall we do if the servant leaves us and all things are left to ourselves? we just cannot leave our clothes as they are and let worms and ants eat them up. and what can we do it we go and study in a foreign country where servants are out our means to employ? we must work for ourselves. why not start to learn to do housework now or else it will be too late? everyone should learn to do housework. what do you think about my idea, boys and girls?

如果于勒真的发了财：
“不”。母亲转过头来对我们说，“先整理一下我们的衣服——菲利普，你看我的衣服还可以吗？”父亲早已按耐不住，他的脸很红，像个滑稽的小丑一般。她说：“可以、可以，我们快点过去吧！”
突然，父亲的眼光暗了下去，脸色突然变得惨白，嘴唇在明媚的.阳光下抖动着。母亲似乎看出父亲的不妥，她问：“怎么了？”父亲转过头来，说：“若他不是于勒，我们又如此冒昧地问，岂不是太没面子了？”母亲说：“你说得对，我们应该去试探一下！”
于是，父亲整理了一下他唯一最漂亮的衣服——那是他每个星期日都会穿着它去海边栈桥上的衣服，然后清了清噪子，小心翼翼地走到那位先生前说：“您好先生。您的衣服真适合您，您是在哪儿买的？” 只见到那位先生风度翩翩地说：“谢谢，这是从美洲买的。”于是父亲开始有一句没一句地和他扯聊。最后，母亲等得不耐烦了，瞪了一眼父亲。父亲会意了，马上说：“啊，和您聊天真愉快！聊了这么久，都不知道您叫什么，请问先生怎么称呼？”“于勒”那位先生简洁地回答。
父亲的脸红透了，像装满了热腾腾的蒸汽。他兴奋地朝我们大喊：“克拉丽丝！快来啊！我们亲爱的弟弟在这呢！”母亲也开心极了，她几乎是奔跑着过去的，他对着于勒一脸讨好地说：“好心的于勒，亲爱的弟弟！你最近还好吗？好久没见了。”
于勒叔叔一脸的不相信，他握住父亲的手，高兴地问：“真的是你吗？我的菲利普哥哥？”“是的，是的！”父亲更高兴了，眼睛一闪一闪的。于是，他们开始热情地相拥起来。
后来，他们坐在一起热情地谈了起来，父母总是在赞他很棒，就连姐姐和姐夫也围在他们身边时不时插几句话，阿谀奉承。
眼前的阳光掺杂着父母的背影，开始变得刺眼起来，偶尔听见母亲的一句话：“太好了！于勒，回去以后来吃个饭叙叙旧吧……”看着父母一脸的讨好，我禁打了一个寒颤。
于是，我撇开视线，向大海望去。远处，灰色的雾中有一个黑的恐怖、黑得沉重的影子——那是哲尔赛岛。而船，在向那片连太阳都驱散不了的雾中继续缓缓驶去……

正当我们一家人在船上闲聊和幻想着哲尔赛岛的美貌时，眼前走来了一位穿着西装革履、风度翩翩、具有绅士风范的中年人，父母的眼睛眨也不眨地盯着中年人看。父亲似乎开始了他的白日梦：要是我这么有钱，那该多好啊！那么，我就可以拥有属于自己的车、别墅……如果他是于勒也好啊！母亲似乎也在想着：我当初要是嫁给了一个富翁该有多好啊，我现在就不用穿如此寒酸的衣服了；我就不用每天干这些粗活；我就不用……母亲的美梦被一声尖叫声给打破了，原来是父亲：“克拉丽丝，我怎么觉得这位富翁好面熟啊！他好像是……好象是……是我那好心的弟弟──于勒啊！”“是啊！我也是这么觉得，他是那好心的于勒。你快去问问啊！快去啊！”“我……我……我这就去问。”“上帝保佑，上帝保佑，保佑他就是那好心的于勒……”
“请问你是于勒先生吗？”父亲即胆怯又兴奋地问道“是啊，你是？”“于勒，于勒！我的好弟弟，你终于回来了。我是你的哥哥──菲利普啊！”“哥哥，我亲爱的哥哥，我回来了。”“克拉丽丝，是于勒，于勒回来了，孩子们，快，快过来，快过来啊。你们那好心的叔叔回来了！”父亲连蹦带跳地喊着。“于勒，嫂子终于盼到你回来了”母亲的眼里出现了泪花。
“两年前，我再次去了南美洲旅游。在途中，我做了些买卖，他们给我带来了２２０万美元的利益。再后来的日子中我又挣了４５０万美元。我原来以为这些钱够我花一辈子了，所以我整天无所事事，只顾着吃喝玩乐。直到有一天，一群土匪冲到我家里，把我所有的钱财都给抢光了，现在的我只剩下身上这套衣服了，这次回来只是想向你们借点钱的……“叔叔一口气把他那悲惨的经历全说了。”好啊！你这个流氓，我就知道你是个败家子，只会吃我们家的财产，你是个流氓，诬赖……母亲破口大骂。
在离开哲尔赛岛时，父母把叔叔留在了岛上，是为了避免他回来再吃我们家的。为此，姐姐的男友也离他们而去。
