熊猫一竹子为主食。它们最喜欢吃箭竹了，他们吃竹子是先剥皮，看看有没有纤虫，经过一番检查之后，才可以吃的`。
熊猫刚出生只有150克左右重。相当于妈妈体重的千分之一。但是，过了一个月以后，熊猫的体重可达2公斤，过三个月后，体重可达5、6公斤重了。
妈妈经常把熊猫宝宝搂在怀里，轻轻地抚摩，外出时也会把小熊猫叼在嘴里，或使用背驼着。迈着瞒姗的步子走来走去，熊猫母子也经常嬉戏玩耍，高兴的时候，也会在平坦的地上翻筋斗。非常亲热的。
