现在跳蚤市场这一名称仍在使用，它一般指在周末举行的非正式户外集市，出售各种各样的东西，有用过的旧东西，也有新的东西，大家把不需要的东西拿出来和别人换取，以此倡导节约型社会。
二、正确认识此次活动的目的：学校组织爱心跳蚤市场活动是为了通过活动让孩子们提高适应社会市场的能力，在文明买卖、讨价还价的过程中得到社会实践锻炼，培养实践操作能力，从中体验到成功和收获的喜悦。
三、为孩子做好活动指导。为了使活动的开展真正达到培养孩子能力的目的，希望家长对孩子做如下指导：
1、帮助孩子科学选择物品，一起商量给“绿色商品”估价，并动员孩子用留存零花钱积极参与“绿色商品”的选购活动。
2、在跳蚤市场交换或买卖的物品，需要同时具有几个以下特点：一是孩子们自己不需要、不常用的物品，如看过的书，用过的学习用品，玩过的玩具等等；二是该物品仍有继续使用的价值；三是该物品保持在七成新以上，且干净、卫生；同时希望家长们指导孩子给物品分类、编号、定价及设计海报、促销广告等。
3、在活动中，鼓励孩子与同学自由组合小组合作，设置售货员、收银员、记账员、促销员、保洁员等岗位，每位同学各负其职，团结合作，并对孩子在合作中需要注意的问题给予指导。
4、活动所得经费，家长必须要引导孩子科学、合理地支配。
