在电影《十二公民》的每一张人物宣传海报上，我们都能看到同一个关键词：拍案而起。
这是一个形容人十分愤怒的词语。
电影开始五分钟，当一号陪审员团长因为众陪审员不愿认真对待这次模拟讨论而第一次拍案而起时，这股愤怒便一直游弋在了影片当中，让这部全片都在围着桌子辩论的影片也变得张力十足，像一部激烈的悬疑动作片一般引人入胜。
8号陪审员，也就是影片的主角何冰在第一次投票时投出了唯一的反对票，面对另外十一人的质疑谩骂时，拍案而起，愤慨地说今天这场模拟讨论往小了说是决定孩子们的通过与否，可是往大了说这些即将成为中国法律一份子的法科生，都将会决定着中国未来司法的是否公正！
这是片子里第一处让我觉得振聋发聩的地方。有一句话说，「认真你就输了」。刚从学校毕业，对各种所谓的生存规则带有强烈抵触的年轻人们最常听到这种话。这些人告诉年轻人别太较真，社会有它的一套规则，要是太过较真吃苦头的也是自己，放下理想，安心接受生活的侵染。这些人是即将退休的父母，是谆谆好意的上级，是一起长大的好友，但最后这些人也变成了你自己，变成了自己对自己行将甘心的挽词。
认真也许会输一时，但不认真的人会输一世。这是认真者对不争者的愤怒。
第二次让我印象深刻的愤怒来自4号陪审员，房地产商赵春羊。这位看起来温文尔雅的商人在面对“穷人”再三讽刺他的恋人为其干女儿时也忍不住拍案而起，毫不留情地对这些质疑者说“我致富是因为我努力工作有能耐！”“看见年轻女孩从豪车上下来就说人家是傍大款是对中国优秀女青年的侮辱！”。

9号是第一个改投无罪票的陪审员。这位空巢老人一开始只是抱着赞同何冰，想再讨论讨论的想法，却在大家争论提供证词的老头是否撒谎时拍案而起，解释了老头缘何撒谎的动机：「重视」。
太久没有这么多人听他说话了，而现在他的每一句话都会被全体网民逐字剖析，成为案情的关键线索，这样的礼遇让他受宠若惊。他享受这样的'重视，他也因此不再是那个没用的瘸腿老头，于是他恨不得多说两个字，让更多的摄像机把他包围起来，听他说起那天晚上的经过。不惜编撰假话。这样的动机，在场的陪审员里只有9号米铁增能够一眼识破，因为他也是一个无人重视的空巢老人。
这是孤独者对自己的愤怒。
10号陪审员老北京张永强可能是本片里最招人恨的角色了。开口闭口的地域歧视看不起河南人，嚷嚷着要赶快投完票收房租，还控诉外地人抢了他儿子的大学名额…整部片子里基本上但凡他一开口都要带着一股子拍案而起的凶劲儿，但却没有一次让人同情。
这是无能而引起的愤怒。
被老北京屡次侮辱的11号陪审员河南保安也算脾气够好。这个勤奋读书两次考读政法大学未果，退而求其次在学校当保安听课的河南人，在听到北京人对河南人如此蔑视时并未狠狠还击。却在讲起自己的故事时拍案而起，这是在对命运抗争时的愤怒。
同样是小人物的7号陪审员小卖部老板钱波，除了要面对维护秩序的校园保安堵截，还要无时无刻给那些掌握着这些人经营权的校领导笑面相迎。校领导责问起要他准备的水在哪里时，他弓着背一路小跑着马上就给大家把矿泉水送了进来递到桌子上，看到校领导走了又大摇大摆地把水一扔，“谁口渴谁自己拿”，吊儿郎当地躺坐在他的大椅上摇起扇子，前后态度的对比让人忍俊不禁。
但当他拍案而起说到自己的无人问津，讲起自己为了给学生送方便面时那滑稽的情形时，电影院里却没有人能够笑得出来了。这是弱者对权利的愤怒。
5号陪审员话不多，但他的拍案而起却是全片中最让人深思的“证据”：他曾是蹲过冤狱的人。当3号陪审员轻描淡写地提起那万分之一能让嫌疑人脱罪的可能性时，他几乎是咆哮着说，「你的万分之一，对他来说可就是全部！」。8年冤狱让他的人生无法逆转，即使洗脱了冤屈，但终究会被人戴着有色眼镜对待，「他可是蹲过大牢的人」。
这是受伤者对施暴者的愤怒。
直到最后才改投无罪票的3号陪审员，出租车司机韩童生，也一直憋到了最后一刻才将他偏执的愤怒原因倾泻而出。与儿子的矛盾让他的人生从此分裂，儿子出走6年，妻子也因此与他离婚，他甚至不知道自己每天起早贪黑地跑出租拉活儿是为了什么。他市侩，易怒，可又懦弱，将「有罪」毫不犹豫地加诸于这个不守孝道的富二代身上，其实是他内心自私的报复。
这是面对真理却犹存侥幸装腔作势者的愤怒。
随着韩童生颤抖着举起手投出最后一票，这场愤怒的讨论的由此落出结果。众人走出密闭的体育馆，在柔和的光线下回归生活。12个陪审员，为着各种不同的原因拍案而起，愤怒会带来偏见，但8号陪审员何冰为公正缺失而产生的愤怒却更为有力，愤怒也带来真相。
言无刀锋，却能人。希望这部难得一见的国产佳作不仅仅是对中国电影的一针强心剂，也能催生公众对司法公正的关注，毕竟最让人信服的不应该是更有力的愤怒，而是合理的制度。
