曾经讲过“不到长城非好汉”，长城是从战国时期开始修建的，当时是为了抵御北方少数民族的扰，秦汉明朝都重修过长城，而我们现在的长城是明代留下来的长城。今天，我们要参观的是——八达岭长城，想登上好汉坡，尝尝当好汉的滋味。
来到八达岭脚下，远远望去，只见长城连绵起伏，气势磅礴，极为壮观，我终于亲眼目睹了古代人民智慧的结晶。
我来不及多想，坐上滑车，来到长城上，只见长城是用一块块砖头建造的，它的建筑结构包括垛口、烽火台、关城、军用道路等，道路很宽，可以五马并行。往前望去，长城连绵不断，像一条巨龙，它东起山海关，西至嘉峪关，横卧在中华大地上。往城下望去，是悬崖峭壁，我不禁为古人造长城的智慧所折服。
长城可真陡啊!有些坡度只有一百三十度，要不是旁边有栏杆，我早就像皮球一样滚下去了，它的陡真可以和黄山的险相媲美；长城可真长啊，在连绵的山中看不到尽头，好不容易走了四个烽火台，算起来才走了全部的万分之一，真可谓是万里长龙啊!长城是世界建筑史上的奇迹，中华民族精神的象征。

People travel by plane, by train, by ship, by bus. For me, the best way of traveling on a summer vacation is to go on foot.人们去旅游有的乘飞机、有的坐火车、坐船、乘公共汽车。对我来说在暑假，最好的方式是徒步旅行。
My preference depends on the purpose of the travel. On a summer vacation I travel to refresh myself and to see the countryside. When I use my feet and walk on a grass covered path along a river or among the hills I feel detached from the noise of the city and closer to the nature. And when I travel on foot I get more freedom. I can plan my own schedule. I can choose my own route. I can stop where I like. 暑假里，我还游览了黄帝陵。
黄帝陵位于陕西省黄陵县境内，被称为“天下第一陵”，轩辕黄帝是我们的祖先，我们都是炎黄子孙，所以我们来缅怀轩辕黄帝。
踏过龙池上的轩辕桥，就来到了轩辕庙，进入庙门，一棵遮天蔽日的古柏映入眼帘，那是黄帝亲手种植的柏树，树干粗大，听说七个大人手拉手合抱都围不过来呢!古柏群中还有一棵汉武帝甲柏，汉武帝曾在上面挂过铠甲。黄帝脚印石上的脚印特别大，让我们想象黄帝是个多么威武的英雄啊!走出古柏群，就来到轩辕殿，轩辕殿前有鼓台、钟台、56面龙旗和青铜牛鼎。轩辕殿有一个圆天窗，这就是天圆地方的景象。每年清明节，海内外的炎黄子孙就会来到这里，祭祀轩辕黄帝。可惜我没有机会亲眼目睹壮观的情景。
接着，我们乘车上山去黄帝陵。
我们沿着石阶爬山，两旁还有许多明星栽的柏树苗，到了黄帝陵的陵墓前，许多人都在这里祭祀。黄帝的陵墓前有一块石碑，上面刻者“黄帝陵”三个大字，还是郭沫若写的呢!
我们绕着黄帝的陵墓走了一圈，旁边有许多柏树，是全国最大的柏树林。两棵龙角柏好象已经去，但导游说却是有生命的，太神奇了!它们像龙一样，直插云霄。真让人景仰。
我为我是中国人而感到骄傲!
