人生抉择
今年5月初，郎平率领恒大女排夺得亚俱杯冠军。顾不上休整，就飞赴北京，就任国家女排主教练。这不仅是体育界的一件要事，也是全国民众关注的新闻。中国女排从上世纪八十年代起，多次夺得世界大赛冠军，代表着中国和平崛起的精神风貌。近几年，更换几次教练，可成绩却急剧滑坡。此时谁当主教练，都有点“受任于败军之际，奉命于危难之间”。压力之大，可想而知。
郎平曾是中国女排“六连冠”时的主攻手，18年前曾经担任过中国女排主教练，取得了比较好的战绩。女排选帅一开始，郎平明确表示自己已经老了，不会去担任女排主教练。排管中心也曾把郎平列为评审专家。但人们还是盼望郎平再次站出来，挑起重担。国家排球管理中心的领导三番五次约请出山。面对体育界和球迷的愿望，到了，郎平终于决定出席的当日的竞聘会。这样慎重地作出决策，郎平经历了怎样的心路历程呢?

爱国情怀
参加国际比赛的运动员最为看重、最为激动人心的时刻是站在领奖台上，注目中华人民共和国国旗冉冉升起。这冠军的荣誉属于国家，也属于自己;正因为自己为国家带来了荣耀，所以更为自豪。不仅是冠军，就是国家队的普通队员，你的表现也和国家联系在一起。作为当年中国女排的主力球员，郎平被称为“中国的铁榔头”，为国家赢得一项又一项荣誉，多少国人、华人为此骄傲。

职业精神
一个人攀登上职业的高峰难能可贵，而功成名就之后一直致力于事业，几十年奋斗不懈，尤其可贵。对社会来说，人们干一行、爱一行、通一行，专业化地发展，更便于做出贡献;对个人来说，也可能更有事业上的成就。上世纪80年代中国女排那批功勋队员渐渐各奔东西，离开的，当然各有各的理由，也是各有各的风采。唯独郎平一直没有离开过排球，她始终站在了排球的最前线，持续着排球事业的辉煌。人生职业多次变化，有些是不由自主，有些是兴趣变迁，在不同的职业背景下，都可能做得出色，但一般说来，还是专业化的职业生涯更能使人生出彩!
郎平作为世界排坛的明星退役，有多种选择。她热爱排球事业，着眼长远，选择了到美国留学，逐步适应了西方的工作和生活。在美国、意大利、土耳其等国排球俱乐部执教，具备了开阔的国际视野、丰富的\'执教。当祖国需要，回来工作的郎平，是深刻了解世界排坛、掌握先进训练方法的优秀教练。她的职业生涯设计和实践，既使自己大有作为，也为祖国排球事业积累了能量。
