随着教育理念的更新，学校和家庭的交流和互动日渐密切，一种更灵活有效的家长参与学校教育和管理的实践形式——家长义工诞生了，它成为学校整合家庭、学校和社会的教育影响力，成为教育合力的有效依托和抓手。家长义工，源起香港和欧美等发达国家和地区，即指学生家长在工作之余志愿贡献出个人的时间及精力，在不计物质报酬的情况下，为学生健康成长和全面发展以及为学校教育教学管理提供无偿服务。
随着学校信息的开放、志愿服务精神的延伸，我校对家长在教育教学以及学校日常工作方面的监管作用有了更深一步的理解。在建立家长委员会、举办家长学校、设立校园开放日的同时，在近期我们将在学校成立家长义工组织，使热心教育、关心教育的家长以公益服务的形式走进校园，参与学校的教育教学管理，这也将是对家校合作方式的一种有益尝试。
其实在我们学校已经有一部分班级已经开展了一些实质性的工作。如一年（4）班黄天城的家长除了为全班每一位同学提供了《学庸论语》一书外，每天早晨抽出自己的宝贵时间，利用早读课亲自带领一年（4）班同学们诵读《论语》，开学至今已经坚持了3周，在他的带领下一年（4）班同学在优秀传统文化的熏陶下，不仅对诗词诵读有了很大的兴趣，而且诵读能力大大提高，对培养孩子们的人文素养有着重要而积极的作用。
此外还有一些家长义工除了为孩子做一些力所能及的.事情外，还主动为孩子们购买图书，为表现优异的孩子购买奖品，组织孩子们参加一些社会实践活动，如亲子游园活动、敬老活动等。正是有了这样一批热心教育事业的好家长，我们学校才能取得一个又一个骄人的成绩。希望其他家长向这些家长学习，积极加入到家长义工的队伍中来，为了孩子美好的明天，为了我们和谐的校园，尽一份心，出一份力。
现在根据学校的需要，特向学生家长招募中国象棋、国际象棋、围棋义工教练，具体招募信息如下：
我校是顺德区棋类网点学校，在一至三年级开设中国象棋、国际象棋、围棋普及课，四-六年级设提高班。凡是进入我校读书的孩子，三年内都能掌握“三棋”的基本知识及基础下法。学生参赛多次获顺德区运动会棋类项目金牌、“棋协杯”团体冠军等；承办2013年顺德区等级赛获团体总分第一名。棋类特色已成为我校素质教育的一张名片。
为更有效促进学生棋艺水平的提高，满足学生的学习需求，现我校面向学生家长、社区居民招募中国象棋、国际象棋、围棋义工教练，以陪练的方式丰富、提高学生的实战。学校将根据报名情况、家长申报的时间（每次大概1小时）以及学校的实际需要，统筹安排义工到校时间，以指导学生棋类学习，激发学生学习兴趣及提高棋艺水平，共同擦亮学校品牌。诚挚邀请家长中的棋类爱好者积极报名参加，我们不胜感激！
