元旦，《书·舜典》中叫“元日”，汉代崔瑗《三子钗铭》中叫“元正”；晋代庾阐《扬都赋》中称作“元辰”；北齐时的一篇《元会大享歌皇夏辞》中呼为“元春”；唐德宗李适《元日退朝观军仗归营》诗中谓之“元朔”。我国历代元旦的月日并不一致。夏代在正月初一，商代在十二月初一，周代在十一月初一，秦始皇统一六国后，又以十月初一日为元旦，自此历代相沿未改（《史记》）。汉武帝太初元年时，司马迁创立了“太初历”，这才又以正月初一为元旦，和夏代规定一样，所以又称“夏历”，一直沿用到辛亥革命。中华民国建立，孙中山为了“行夏正，所以顺农时；从西历，所以便统计”，定正月初一（元旦）为春节，而以西历（公历）1月1日为新年。
在当代，元旦指公元纪年的岁首第一天。自西历传入我国以后，元旦一词便专用于新年，传统的旧历年则称春节。公元1911年，孙中山领导的辛亥革命，推翻了满清的统治，建立了中华民国。各省都督代表在南京开会，决定使用公历，把农历的正月初一叫做“春节”，把公历的1月1日叫做“元旦”。不过当时并未正式公布和命名。为了“行夏正，所以顺农时，从西历，所以便统计”，民国元年决定使用公历（实际使用是1912年），并规定阳历（公历）1月1日为“新年”，但并不叫“元旦”。
今天所说的“元旦”，是新中国成立前夕的公元1949年9月27日，中国人民政治协商会议第一界全议决议：“中华人民共和国纪年采用公元纪年法”，即是我们所说的阳历，为了区别农历和阳历两个新年，又鉴于农历二十四节气中的“立春”恰在农历新年的前后，因此便把农历正月初一改称为“春节”，阳历一月一日定为“元旦”，至此，元旦才成为全国人民的.欢乐节日。
最早的元旦由来大约在公元前五万年左右，古埃及人已由游牧改为农耕，定居在尼罗河两岸，他们的农业收成与尼罗河是否发生洪水有很大关系。古埃及人从长期的观察中发现，尼罗河泛滥的时间是有规律的，他们就把这个时间每次都记录在竹竿上，从中得知两次泛滥时间之间大约相隔365天；同时还发现，当尼罗河初涨的潮头来到今天开罗城附近的时候，也正好是太阳与天狼星同时从地平线上升起的时候。
于是，古埃及人便把这一天定为一年的开始。这是“元旦”最早的由来。

On New Year\'s Eve,it is common to have a bag dinner with family members or friends at home or in hotels and hear bells which informs us of the coming New Year.On New Year\'s Day,people fiest greet each other. Some people wear new coats and visit temples to pray for happiness and health theoughout the New Year.Children are busy with getting the gifts from their parents and relatives.

I am sorry to hear in the phone call with your father that you were in hospital for you got the A H1N1 virus which made me feel so tense.
I dont know how you got it,however,dont be so scared for the A H1N1 virus is medicable duo to the high tech.You just need to be clam and partner the treatment with the dostors.
Besides,I want to give some advice about how to prevent the A H1N1 virus.Firstly,you mustnt go to the places full of people to reduce the probability of getting it.
Secondly,you should wash your hand before the meals and after you go home from outside.Only do this can you precent yourself from getting it again.
