六岁那年，正是农忙时期，母亲带着我来到祖母家，算是帮祖母减少几滴额间的汗水。
大人们早已经在麦田中忙开，我坐在田垄上，有些无所事事。初夏的风吹来了麦香，还埋入了点泥土味，闻着是那么踏实，厚重。
在一片金色中，我看见几抹小小的身影穿梭其中——那是一群土生土长的乡村孩子。还不待我反应过来，他们便将我团团围住，用黑白分明的眼睛打量着我。最后，像是领袖一般的一个孩子小心翼翼地向我发出邀请，“和我们玩吗？”我毫不犹豫地点了头，便同他们一起走入这金色的麦浪中了。
我们玩着捉人的游戏，高出我们几个头的麦穗便成了最好的保护。有时猫着腰，一不留神会撞上农活的大人，往往会收获一个善意的微笑和提醒——一切如此美好。
我一次比一次跑得远了，直到我惶恐地发现，茫茫田野，只有我一人在游荡。
这对于一个6岁小孩来说确实有些恐怖。我简直无法挪动我的脚，远处几位割麦人，却已不是我熟悉的面孔了。
我穿过一个个稻田，走过一个个陌生的田垄……世界似乎就这样展现在我的面前了。
我跌跌撞撞，终于觅得一个无人的角落，滚下泪珠。风吹来了，仍是麦香夹杂着泥土味，抚去了我的无助。
我对回到祖母家的渴望逐渐强烈起来，我至今仍惊异于小小的我如何会有那份决心与坚定。
麦田的金色似乎更加明亮，我像一个小流浪者，此刻背上了归家的行囊。
我跑过树林，穿过菜地，来到了一条公路——我识得它，它就是通向祖母家的。
我沿着公路慢慢走，脚上的新鞋已看不出原先的面目了。待我见到祖母在家门口焦急等待的身影，终于眼泪决堤…。
在那一天，我懵懵懂懂地知道了，换一条路回家并不可怕，只要我们有到家的渴望与决心，那么每一条路都会通向目的地，都会通向我们心之所往。
