过年有走亲戚的习俗。年初亲戚来访时，主人家总会想方设法去热情相待。孩子也不会没闲着，打招呼、斟茶递水、陪食、送客，忙前忙后。待客有礼能体现主人家热情好客，但有些孩子的表现却偏偏“差强人意”，这时免不了会挨上一顿骂，而且往往是当着客人的面被数落一番的\'。骂得最多的就是：“你怎么那么嘴笨”“见了谁也不问，没礼貌”等。
孩子被骂后通常会躲一边黯然伤神，偷偷抹泪。虽然受了委屈，心里却暗暗较起了劲：下次一定不能再这样了。可真等下次又象泄了气的皮球，没了底气。结果在一次次骂声中慢慢建立起来的自卑感，成了成长中挥之不去的阴霾。

世上没有一劳永逸的捷径。除了耐心，还需寻求技巧才行，才能保证说教作用同时又没伤到幼小心灵。要把握好这个度，说来是件挺伤脑筋的事情，不过肯留心观察，生活中总能找到不少有借鉴作用的事例。比如之前看到的一个例子。一年轻妈妈带女儿外出购物，半路遇上熟人。妈妈唤来女儿叫“阿姨好”，不料孩子却拽着妈妈的衣角害羞地躲到了背后。妈妈并未理会女儿这一举动，而是继续与朋友聊了起来，等说完后才转过身去拉起女儿的手递向那位阿姨，阿姨当即心领神会呈出笑脸，伸手握着孩子的手。妈妈示意女儿说，我们要走了，跟阿姨握手说再见。阿姨率先说了拜拜，孩子没有说，不过却腼腆地笑了。
多有亲和力又值得学习和尊敬的一位母亲。碰到这样的情形，不是当面的呵斥，而是设身处地“护”着孩子，懂得如何引导与尊重她，给予肯定与鼓励，也没有为了自己脸面而为难孩子。虽然孩子最终没说什么，但她的笑容足已说明她内心是开心的，也算是对别人礼貌性的回应了。显然这位妈妈是知道“己所不欲勿施于人”的道理的，才没表现出盛气凌人的一面。人人都有童年，挨骂了难免闷闷不乐。我虽小，也有自尊心，经常无端受到责骂，潜意识里觉得自己是大人们的眼里是什么事情都做不好的蠢孩子。少了自信，以后不管遇上任何事，总怀疑自己能不能做好，唯唯诺诺的，原本该有的棱角与天性，丧失殆尽。所以以自身经历看根本是行不通的，足以引起反思。
可以理解，那个做父母的不希望自己的儿女彬彬有礼仪表堂堂呢。问题是，家长们是否有矫枉过正的嫌疑？人当然要有礼貌，平日里碰上相识的人要打招呼、跟别人交谈时不要转移注意力、尊重别人的正常发言等，这些最基本的做到就差不多了，无所谓苛求。相反，要求必须严谨客气，样样都要遵守固有的繁文缛节，反而会滑入“世故”的泥沼里，也会引起孩子们的排斥、厌恶与孤独感。
所以，有时候我们对孩子是不是太过刻薄了呢？只要他们稍有不合意的，就义正词严横加指责。教不好，是他蠢，教不听，是他叛逆，总能找到理由往他们身上推。从来很少或根本就没从自身找过原因，忽视了孩子的单纯性、承受力、微弱的判断力等多种因素。可见与其一味固守不变，不如寻机求变。过程难免艰难、迷惑，哪怕收获甚微，亦好过放任自流。
我觉得小孩没礼貌或使坏，家长应该承担主要责任，不应端起为人父母的架子强加“唯命是从”的指令，更不要为找台阶下而扯个堂而皇之的借口搪塞到孩子的身上，这样对他们很不公平。不是吗？
