这是通识课上看的一个纪录片。说是纪录片，实际上更像是一个教育片。从人类消失在这个世界上的第一天起，直至消失1000年，探讨了地球将会发生如何的变化。
第一天，也许没什么变化。只是家里的狗狗很有些寂寞。
过了没几天，城市乡村的夜晚开始陷入一片黑暗。因为主要的供电是靠煤炭燃烧。一旦燃烧炉内的燃料燃尽，而此时已经没有工人继续往里添加燃料。大部分的供电会因此而停止。连狗狗在家里唯一能够“看”的电视也没有了。宠物狗们在家里可吃的东西已经不多，它们被迫出门觅食。而大多数狗天生就不适合在野外生存，它们的生理特征决定了它们在大自然中的弱势（如脸太长或太短，腿太短，跑不快），所以一大部分的狗会丧尸荒野，而少数长相普通的狗却在此时成功的存活下来。
至于其他动物，渐渐地它们会来到街头觅食，就像在原始的大自然中的生存法则一样：弱肉强食。甚者，当城市周边有动物园的话，那些动物一旦有潜力冲出了牢笼，它们将会使新一轮的战争更加激烈。毕竟本性难移。但是由于刚开始的一阶段，城市还未因为无人管理而乱成一团，所以站在新的食物链顶端的是哪种动物，答案或许并非如同从前。
也许一开始世界的变化还不是太明显，但是大自然的能量还是强大的，几十年后，人类存在过的痕迹会被大自然一点一点的消除。高楼倒塌。大桥被腐蚀断裂，书本被微生物侵蚀至化为须有……一切人类存在过的痕迹将会慢慢被人类抹去。即使是历经风霜的世界七大奇迹，也终将抵但是风和雨的侵蚀，化为一团沙随风散去只是时间的问题。
地球存在的历史如此之长，人类的存在只是其中的一小段时间。反观人类，我们又如何自大地认为地球能够任由我们掌控呢？
矿产的过度开采，树木的过度砍伐，对别的生物的戮……我们已经做了太多危害地球的事情，而这一切却终将害了我们自己。看看全球变暖的后果，我们砍掉了那么多的森林，二氧化碳已经无法被及时吸收。温室气体笼罩在大气层上，使得大气层变成了一个微波炉。而紫外线正源源不断地给我们加热。
地球上那么多种生物之所以能够和谐的共存，是因为它们经历无数的考验，无数的磨练才构成了此刻的复杂而环环相扣的循环体系。而人类也只但是是在这个循环中存在的一个环节而已。我们大肆地做着看似是为了“人类的利益和发展”的事情，不断的破坏以前和谐的循环，却丝毫没有意识到，我们的所作所为只是将我们自己一步步地引向地狱的深渊。我丝毫不怀疑地球的更新和保护潜力，没有人类的存在地球还是会照样转，并且说不定没我们捣乱会转得更好。所以我们还是趁早改变我们的利欲熏心和目光浅薄，趁还来得及，赶快自救！
