even if such a catastrophe would not happen, there would be a great temperature difference on the two hemispheres of the earth, and the four seasons of the year would no longer occur because a day and a night would be as long as a whole year instead of 24 hours. all this would greatly affect the life of human beings, imals and plants and that would cause worse results than anything imaginable.

我也感到很奇怪，和妈妈一起端起盘子仔细研究起来，原来是为了让南瓜更好吃，妈妈把南瓜放在一个盘子里，上面洒了些米酒，再把盘子放在一个篦子上，不久，南瓜里的水出来了，再加上米酒里的水都到了盘子低部，盘子里被水淹住的南瓜是生的，而露在外边的.南瓜是熟的。水蒸气可以把南瓜蒸熟，而水为什么不能呢？这是怎么一回事呢？水蒸气的温度是不是比沸水的温度高呢？
带着疑问，我打开了电脑，开始查找资料。结果是水蒸气的温度是和沸水的温度是一样高，都是100度。我俩都傻眼了。这到底是怎么一回事呢？查找无果，怎么办呢？
“去问问物理老师不就明白了吗？”关键时刻，老妈突发灵感。对呀，我怎么没想到呢？倪叔叔就是物理老师，我立刻拿起电话，说明了情况。
原来，是因为盘子的水没有沸腾，所以盘子里被水覆盖的南瓜没有熟，而上面的南瓜熟了，是水蒸气把南瓜蒸熟的。但是如果直接把南瓜放到锅里添上水煮，南瓜就会全部煮熟。
原来是这样!
既然水蒸气和沸水的温度一样高，为什么平常被水蒸气烫伤比被沸水烫伤更严重呢?叔叔告诉我，水蒸气在液化为100摄氏度的水时会放出热量，而水蒸气烫伤皮肤时，人体吸收的热量是水蒸气变为100度水放出的热加上100度水变为环境温度放出的热的和。而100度水烫伤皮肤，皮肤只吸收由100度水变为环境温度所放出的热，所以被水蒸汽烫伤比被开水烫伤更严重。
哦，我明白了，普普通通的日常生活中竟然包含着这么多的科学道理。看来，只要我们时时留心，知识是无处不在呀！
