从前，有一块橡皮擦，它一直想去找一种使自己永远不会被人类用完的仙药。它听奶奶说，在万众山有一位老仙人，它法力无边，找到他，一定会帮你完成心愿。但万众山离橡皮家族很远，要爬过99座山，越过99条河，穿过无人能活着走出的树林。但小橡皮决心已定，不管多么坚苦，都要找到仙药。
第二天，小橡皮就出发了。走着走着，眼前便是连绵起伏的高山，小橡皮自言自语道∶“这么高的山，什么时候才能爬上去呀？”可又一想，为了找仙药，再苦再累也值得。便爬上了高山。过了三年，橡皮擦爬过了99座山。眼前又出现了99条大河，那河水流的可真急呀！小橡皮搬来木头架在河上，小心地跃过大河。又过了三年，橡皮擦跃过了99条大河。见到了一片树林，这时的他，已不是当年的小橡皮了，而是有勇气的橡皮擦，他想都没想就走进了树林，回头一看，高山和大河没了，是一只只野兽，他们眼里发出的绿光足够使人毛骨悚然了。但橡皮擦不怕，他拿起木棍，向野兽打去。他穿过了树林，看见一位老仙人，老仙人随即从衣服里拿出一瓶仙药，并送他回家。
从此，橡皮家族过着幸福而又愉快的生活。
