星期一下午（2013年11月4日），我们进行了。李老师说："前二十名都能得到奖章和礼物，不过奖章和礼物只能选一样。"
比赛开始啦！李老师给我们每人发了一张小卷，在拿到卷子之前我非常紧张，因为我怕得不了前二十名，得不到老师发的奖章和礼物。李老师说："计时开始。"而我没有及时查卷子上的`内容，却在那里发呆了一会。一只苍蝇飞过来对我说："你发什么呆呀！还不赶快参加比赛。不然就落后啦！"这时我才回过神来，赶快进入决斗状态。
我先活动了一下紧张的手指，拿起字典随便翻了一下，没想到一下却翻到了第一个字"献"，心里窃喜好幸运呀！第二个字"旗"就没有那么幸运啦！我用音序差了半天差不到，就偷偷的换成了部首查字法查出来了。我刚查完第一部分用音序查字时，张益铭已经全部查完第一个交卷子。这时的我更紧张了，我要赶快差第二部分用部首查字法查字，这是我的强项，不一会全查完了。
公布比赛结果时，我是第29名，我的心都毁容了，我拿着卷子使劲捏，把卷子往桌子上一扔，痛苦的躺在了椅子上。我非常难过，因为没有得到老师的表扬，没有被评为查字典小能手。等下次再比赛查字典时我一定要评为查字典小能手。
