很久很久以前的集安，有着一个古老的破吉他乐队，它把这个集安市都带动了起来。集安市的一名小学生胡亮，从小有一个远大的梦想，那就是有一个属于自己的乐队。他渐渐地长大了，开始追求自己的梦想。首先，胡亮通过视频的方式请来了自己的偶像程宫老师做乐队经纪人。程宫一开始对胡亮有着很大的偏见，但后来慢慢改变了对他的`看法，并信任他。一开始，只有两个人来报名，一个残疾，一个怪癖，彼此之间相处了几天，都没有相互说过一句话。之后他们认识了一位音乐老师，他的女儿极有音乐天赋，钢琴弹的非常好，可是她妈妈不让她弹钢琴，说那样没出息，好好学习，长大了像北京的叔叔一样研究原子弹。她很想弹琴，便进了乐队做键盘手，每逢夜晚，她就偷偷爬小窗户出门排练，再偷偷爬回窗户，回家休息。
后来胡亮在一次去医院就诊的时候认识了一位老医生，通过聊天才得知老医生是原来破吉他乐队的一员，乐队解散了，也就各奔东西。而这位老医生因长期思念乐队患上脑栓。经胡亮邀请后，他成了乐队的吉他手。
不久之后，程宫经纪人收到了一条信息：集安市的象征——矗立在人民广场上的大吉他要被拆了。胡亮得知后，情绪很激动，大吉他是他从小看着它建立起来的，怎么能说拆就拆呢！他在心中暗暗发誓，绝对不会让大吉他倒下，他要带领自己的乐队重新点燃人们心中摇滚的火焰。他们四处演出，唱着属于自己的《都选C》。工厂，妇女院，幼儿园……处处都有他们的身影。可是，这并没有用，大吉他还是倒下了。胡亮愤怒，气愤，发泄……直到平静，他努力调整心情继续投入排练。原来安排在大吉他前表演的节目仍在继续，他们来到废墟前，当弹奏起第一个音时，眼泪就哗哗往下流，边哭边弹边唱。＂哐！哐！哐＂砸门的声音突然响起并且越来越大，管理员把门刚一打开，顿时！几千万人都如蜂窝似的涌了进来，不停地为他们呐喊助威。原来，大家都是他们的粉丝，有乐器的通通拿来了，架子鼓排成一个个方阵，弹电吉他的人们围成一个圆。一片废墟一下子便成了一个耀眼的舞台……
通过这部电影，让我懂得了：遇到挫折不要退缩，说不定，有许多人都看好你，不要让他们失望，努力做最好的自己。
