电视里有则公益广告，一个小孩对着满桌的食物还不停“我要，我还要”地嚷嚷，他爹模样的男子赶紧喊来服务员大方地满足了孩子要求，然后扔下一桌剩菜走了……画外音说，中国人由于缺乏节俭意识，外出进餐都会点很多菜，吃不完又很少愿意打包，使得餐桌浪费率高达20%，粗略统计，每年浪费的粮食足够养活两亿人，其价值在1000亿元以上。
这个数字有些“亲切”。可不是嘛，前些天才听了另一组数字：我国目前仍有一亿多贫困人口，他们每天的生活费平均只有6块3毛钱。许多偏远地区的孩子，连午餐都吃不上，以至于志愿者要发起募捐3块钱的“午餐革命”。当那些面有菜色的孩子心满意足地吞吃着“爱心午餐”的时候，我们心里真有些不是滋味。而另一个司空见惯的现象是，许多人却在因为吃得太多而拼命消化，为营养过剩发着愁。后者自然不在乎桌上堆着的食物，更不会在乎潲水缸中的剩菜剩饭。
咱中国人在吃饭方面已经吃成了闻名天下的饮食文化，这本不是什么坏事，化庸常为神奇能把吃饭吃成文化，也是值得自豪一下的。我们尝说民以食为天，所以吃饭的事情如何重视都不过分。可惜的是，咱中国人从古至今，吃饱和吃不饱的时候几乎总是交织在一起，而且吃不饱的记忆更加刻骨铭心。大约是吃饱不一定记得，饥饿的感觉才驱之不散吧。饥饿的记忆如此深刻，原因是在几千年的历史的长河中，常常见到“饿殍遍地”、“人相食”之类的极端字眼，饱食终日的时候并不多而且只是少数人的特权。到了我们这代人，饥饿记忆当然有，但比起我们前一代人已经少多了。听到过父兄那些人关于“自然灾害”年代的回忆，那些事现在人听起来仿佛天方夜谭了，可却是千真万确的事实。但我们这代人的温饱不成其为问题的时间似乎并不很长，三十年来时间吧，所以很多人不应该彻底忘记饥饿。现在许多人吃饱已经不是问题，所以很容易就忘了饥饿时难受的感觉。据说现在正由温饱向小康社会转型，可正如前述资料所说的那样，一亿多贫困人口的存在，绝对数字相当庞大，他们的温饱问题依然突出。
这些道理许多人都明白，然而到了特定场合就不起作用了，如果说公款吃喝浪费不心疼的话，就算是自己掏腰包的人一上餐桌好像也不太注重节俭了，似乎盘子中剩些菜饭才显得有面子。很多人下馆子都像是最后晚餐，一副明天就不过了的样子，请人吃饭吃不吃得完尚在其次，重要的是必须要有面子。有面子的主要表现就是桌子上食物的多少，吃不完又很少有人主动打包，因为那是十分没面子的事情。只是这“面子”的成本着实高了点，能够养活两亿人口的粮食就白白扔掉了。不错，我国粮食每年都在增产，而且幅度还比较大，但产量再大也有限度，相对于需求而言，粮食永远是个稀缺品，再多也经不住无度浪费。
粮食最大的功用当然是“口粮”，它是人类得以生存的必要保证，如果有一天缺少了粮食，哪怕钱再多，经济再发达也是无济于事的，因为人既不可以拿钱来填饱肚子，也不可以将所谓经济当大饼啃。小时候受过很多“粒粒皆辛苦”教育，这种教育有时候还比较吓人，我奶奶就郑重其事地告诉我，人一生粮食是由定量的，吃完了或者糟蹋完了，人的寿命也就终止了。浪费粮食是罪过，就算偷着糟蹋，“雷公老子”也要发怒……这种说法具有迷信色彩，大概只是吓唬小孩子的，可不能说没有作用，它至少让我对粮食有了敬畏，不敢轻易浪费之。因为浪费的不仅仅是粮食，而是糟蹋自己的寿命，何况雷公还要干预。迷信吗?还真不见得。
如若一个社会浪费粮食成为习惯，人貌似有了面子，但全社会的面子会越来越难看，越来越狰狞。

同学们，每年的十月十六日是“世界粮食日”，我们国家将“世界粮食日”所在的一周定为“爱惜粮食，节约粮食宣传周”，你们知道这是为什么吗？它是根据我们国家的国情确定的。
也许有同学认为，节约几粒米没有多大用场，让我们一起来算笔帐：如果一个人一天节约一粒米，全国13亿人可节约2186万斤，这么多米可以救济4000多灾民吃10年，可以给1000多名学生吃60年，所以节约粮食有特别重大的意义但是，在我们的同学中，却普遍存在着浪费粮食的现象。不知道大家注意到没有：每天早上在咱们校门口的垃圾箱内，有许多同学把吃剩的馒头、油条、面包丢在里面；在学校吃饭的同学，也经常把大碗大碗的饭、菜倒在泔水桶内，这实在令人心痛。据有关部门估计，全国每年浪粉的粮食，足够5000万人吃一年，多么惊人的浪费啊！
我想：在座的每一位同学都会背古诗《锄禾》吧。锄禾日当午，汗滴禾下土。谁知盘中餐，粒粒皆辛苦。我们可以从这首古诗中可以看出粮食的珍贵。据统计，一粒粮食从播种到收割，再加工成成品粮，至少要经过20多道工序，这中间包含了农民多少辛勤的劳动，每一粒粮食都浸透了农民的心和汗水。
同学们，我们是中华民族的新一代，要继承勤俭节约的传统美德，在“节粮宣传周”里，在以后的每一天，要开展爱粮惜粮，节约粮食的宣传活动，要求人人从自己做起，个个养成爱粮节粮的好习惯。

其实，在我刚看到“节约粮食，从我做起”这8个字的时候，我的脑海中曾经闪过一丝疑惑，节约二字说的容易，可是做起来会不会很难呢?节约粮食对农民伯伯来说是否有好处呢?不过，很快我就想明白了，节约其实做起来并不难，相反可以说还很简单，只要从生活中的一点一滴做起来就可以了，比如说在出去玩的时候赶紧吃完碗里剩下的那几粒米，几根面，几口馒头就可以了，这样，即便是对农民伯伯没有任何的好处，对我们来说渐渐的也会养成一种好的习惯，而且还不会让农民伯伯那一滴滴的汗白流，那一口口气白喘，那一声声的“好累”白说，那一份份的力气白使，那一次次望着庄稼成熟的笑容白笑。
粮食，是农民伯伯的汗水浇灌而成，是农民伯伯一次次辛勤施肥而成，是农民伯伯，总之，这一切的一切都告诉了我们一个道理，那就是粮食的来之不易，希望大家从自己做起，从而影响身边的人，让大家都懂得节约粮食。

这是在很早的时候，古人写一首诗叫《悯农》，如果先不看内容，光看诗名，悯农就是怜悯农民的意思，这里的怜悯并不是可怜的意思，而是要理解农民的辛苦，他们每年辛勤播种，灌溉，施肥，除草，虫，可是即使这么的辛苦，有时候遇上天灾，收的粮食也就只能够一年的生活，这也就是为什么我们说农民虽然是生活在社会最低层的人，但是他们却是最伟大的人。
所有的种种就是希望我们不要浪费一点一滴的粮食，因为节约光荣，浪费可耻。
