我给父母做的一道菜英语作文【一】
今天是妈妈的生日，妈妈平时很辛苦，总是忙里忙外的，今天总该放松一下了吧。于是我准备为妈妈做两道菜，让妈妈尝尝我的手艺。可是做什么好呢？我左思右想，大菜嘛，我的手艺拿不出手，那，就做两道小菜吧。经过一番斟酌，我定下了菜谱：一个热菜一个凉菜，热的番茄炒鸡蛋，凉的拌黄瓜。趁现在，妈妈还没回来，我一遛烟儿地冲进了厨房。
进到厨房，我一下子有了当大厨的感觉。开始做菜了，我从菜篮里拿出两个又红又大的番茄，把它们用清水洗净后，放进一碗滚烫的开水里，这样可以在撕皮时轻而易举。趁着烫番茄的功夫，我又从冰箱里拿出三个鸡蛋，从消毒柜里拿出一个碗。然后我把鸡蛋在碗边上轻轻一击，鸡蛋被磕出一条缝，我双手各捏着鸡蛋的两头，用力一掰，“啪”的一声，蛋清和蛋黄落在了碗里，而碎成两半的蛋壳“魂归垃圾桶”。我拿起筷子在装着鸡蛋的碗里搅来搅去，搅几下洒一点，狼狈及了。经过我的不懈努力，终于搅好了鸡蛋。打完鸡蛋，番茄烫的也差不多。我用筷子把番茄夹起来，轻轻一撕，番茄皮大块大块的迅速地被我揭完了。我拿起菜刀，把它们大卸八块。
好了，番茄和鸡蛋准备完毕！接下来该是最难完成的“炒”了。
我点燃天然气炉，把菜油倒入炒锅里，等到油锅滚烫时，我把鸡蛋倒进锅里，炒了几下，便把番茄放进去。这时锅里溅起了油星儿，我丝毫不害怕，继续“工作”。突然想到还没放调料，赶忙放入一些盐和味精，一阵手忙脚乱之后，终于闻到了鸡蛋的香味，便赶紧拿出妈妈最喜欢的青花瓷盘子，把“胜利果实”盛上，小心翼翼地端上了餐桌。
接着是凉拌黄瓜。拌黄瓜很简单，我几乎没遇到什么问题，不费吹灰之力就做好了，我把它放在玻璃碗里。玻璃碗的晶莹剔透，配上黄瓜的鲜黄嫩绿，看了令人心旷神怡。
正当我看着我的“杰作”沾沾自喜时，妈妈回来了。我连忙迎上去：“妈妈你快看，我专门为你做的菜，祝你生日快乐！”妈妈抚摸着我的头，笑着说：“好孩子，你真懂事啊，我真要好好谢谢你。”我拉着妈妈：“不用谢，这是我应该做的，你平时那么辛苦，对我那么关心和照顾，我要谢谢你才对。走，去尝尝我做的菜吧。”妈妈听后，由衷地笑了。
爱是阳光，爱是雨露，妈妈爸爸给了我们那么多阳光和雨露，我们是不是也应该用茁壮成长、健康快乐、越来越聪明、懂事来回报他们呢？让我们人人都有着一颗感恩的心，去好好孝顺、回报自己的父母吧！

Dear Mom and Dad,
Although we can only keep in touch with each other by the telephone or the Internet, I wish I could let you know how much I love you and how much I’ve appreciated the things you’ve done for me. It is never too much to say thank you to you, my dear parents.
First and the most important is that thank you for bringing me to this world. During the 20 years, you have done a lot for me, but I haven’t realized how much I love you until I left home to the university. I understand how much effort you have cost to bring me up. Now, I have grown up, I can look after you.
Second, I want to thank you that you give me a good environment to grow up. There is an old saying “Parents are the first teacher to their children”. In my life, you are the typical ones. Because of your good examples I formed the good habit of learning at an early age which benefits my life.
At last, I want to say “thank you” is that you always support my choice. You never forced me to do anything I was not interested in. You told me to pursuit my own dreams without hesitation and you would support me forever. You also told me to how to be a human. Now I become an optimistic and cheerful girl and I feel happy every day.

Beloved father:
It’s a long time no contacting with you since last e-mail. And I miss you so much. Recently I luckily turn to the third officer working on board MV Blue Whale,which is a container ship. I intend to introduce you what Ido on this big vessel in this letter.
I am the third officer working in the deck department. As you know, the third officer is responsible to the master for the proper performance of his assigned bridge watchstanding and navigational duties.
On board, my first daily work is wathckeeping from 8 to 12 and from 20 to 24. my second daily work is in charge of the maintance of the fire-fighting equipment and life-saving equipment. The third , I am also responsible for fire and boat drills, I have to design a muster list and make crew to know the best escape route clearly. Additionally, there are also some simple things I have to do in daily work. For example, I have to assist the Chief Officer in supervising cargo handling operation 、to measure the draft at the discretion of the Chief Officer or the Master、to assist the Master on the bridge with anchoring and mooring and unmooring operation is underway and so on.
In the end, I strongly believed that you must be very familiar with my special work through what I said. And I hope you can stand my back and make me stronger. We will have a reunion soon.
