Lion was awakened from sleep by a mouse running over his face.
Rising up in anger, he caught him and was about to kill him, when the mouse piteouslyentreated, saying: "If you would only spare my life, I would be sure to repay your kindness." The lion laughed and let him go.
It happened shortly after this that the lion was caught by some hunters, who bound him by strong ropes to the ground.
The mouse, recognizing his roar, came up, and gnawed the rope with his teeth, and setting him free, exclaimed: "You ridiculed the idea of my ever being able to help you, not expecting to receive from me any repayment of your favour; but now you know that it is possible for even a Mouse to confer benefits on a lion."
Little friends may prove great friends.
一只老鼠从一只狮子面前跑过去，将它从梦中吵醒。
狮子生气地跳起来，捉住老鼠，要弄它。老鼠哀求说：“只要你肯饶恕我这条小生命，我将来一定会报答你的大恩。”狮子便笑着放了它。
后来狮子被几个猎人捉住，用粗绳捆绑倒在地上。
老鼠听出是狮子的吼声，走来用牙齿咬断绳索，释放了牠，并大声说：“你当时嘲笑我想帮你的忙，而且也不指望我有什么机会报答。但是你现在知道了，就算是小老鼠，也能向狮子效劳的。”
强者不会永远是强者，强者也会有需要弱者帮助的时候。

因为小韦是我们班上男同胞的一员，所以我们都给他捧场。他也摆出一副要和小张斗争到底的样子，颇有风趣地说：“800米算不了什么，我怎么可能会输给一个女生！”我们也故作严肃的样子，嘱咐他：“嗯，你输了的话那我们男生的.脸就丢光了哟！”
当我们男生给小韦做“思想工作”时，女生来了：“哼，你们的短跑冠军怎么可能在800米上占优势。”她们把“短跑”和“长跑”这两个词拖得特别长。“那又怎么样？只要结果还没有出，你们就不能轻易下结论！”伶牙俐齿的小何立即反驳。“走着瞧吧！哼！”咄咄逼人的女生扭头就走。“哼！走着瞧吧！”我们男生异口同声地说。
比赛终于要开始了，小韦和小张在弯道处准备起跑，小韦特别大气，把二道的好位置让给了小张，自己跑四道。
“各就位——预备——跑！”吴老师的令声刚落，两个人便如离铉之箭般跑了出去，腿上的肌肉紧绷着。好像要尽最大的力气冲向前方。
在前一百米，小韦的确处于优势，这是毋庸置疑的，在后一百米时，小张便借助腿长的优势，慢慢地追上了小韦，我在心里为小韦捏了一把汗。小韦先冲过了200米线，从我们身边掠过，我感觉他所到之处都会有一阵风。两秒后小张也掠过了200米线。我们男生终于按耐不住了，“加油”“加油”地喊了起来。
第二圈过去了，小张已经把小韦甩了将近50米了，这是“亡距离”，不是说被甩开了那么远就必输无疑，这里的亡指的是信心崩溃，可我相信小韦，他的意志力是绝对坚强的！第三圈离终点线约65米时，情况发生了大逆转，小张突然摔了一跤，这是绝佳的好机会，小韦真是好运气，机不可失，时不再来，真是“山重水复疑无路，柳暗花明又一村”啊！我多希望他能冲过终点，让那群不知天高地厚的女生尝尝失败的痛苦，尝尝望尘莫及的滋味儿。
小韦他停了下来，扶起了小张，真是令人大跌眼睛，这么好的机会，他居然要放弃？可是，我也觉得他那样做是对的，毕竟同学一场，也是缘分，没必要为了一场比赛而刀剑相向。最后他将小张扶了回来，得到了全班同学的肯定和赞扬。

Last autumn we took a trip to Qianshan by bus. It is about thirty miles from the city. We planned to put up in a hotel there in order to watch the sun rise the next morning.
As soon as we got there, we began to climb up the mountains. How great the sight is! We felt as if we had entered amother world full of beauty, peaeefulness and loveliness. There are hundreds of mountains, one after another. there are magnificent cliffs, one above another. We climbed up vigorously and breathed the fresh air greedily. As the sun was going down, we descended to a little hotel at the foot of the hill, where we had a big dinner, and then went to bed early so as to regain the energy ior the expedition next morning.
Before daybreak, we reached the peak of the highest mountain after a hard groping and climbing in the dark. Unaware of the cold wind, we stood motionlessly, with our eyes fixing at the hr end of the east. Suddenly thin ravs of red hue spread across the sky. As the redness deepened, some mysterious clouds moved across thc sky, dividing heaven from the earth. Just at this moment, up from the brightening far east rose the sun. It was so red and yet so tender that we could gaze at it with naked eyes. and a slight applause from us. the amazed spectators, rang through the peak. Up, up it rose, adding to itself strength and glory at every step. It dazzled with vigour, driving away darkness, cold, and misery from the earth, and bring light, warmth, and happiness to men.
We were completely amazed at the wonder and the greatness of nature. We jumped and shouted like innocent children and we bathed in the first rays of the sun with the peak till it was time for our return.
千山秋游
去年秋天我们乘公共汽车去千山游玩了一次。它距城市大约三十英里。为了第二天早晨看日出，我们计划住在那儿的旅馆里。
我们一到那里就开始爬山。那里的景色太美了!我们感到好像进入了另一个世界，一个充满美丽、和平和可爱的世界。那里有数百座山峰鳞次栉比：有壮观的悬崖层出不穷。我们精力充沛地向上攀登，贪婪地呼吸着新鲜空气。当太阳下落时，我们来到山下的一家小旅店，在那里美美地吃了一顿晚饭，然后早早地上床睡觉，以便恢复精力第二天早晨远征。
天亮前，我们经过在黑暗中艰难地摸索和爬行到达了最高的山峰。我们一动不动地站在那里，双眼凝视着远处的`东方，连寒风也没觉察到。突然间，薄薄的红光在天空中散开，随着红色加深，一些神奇的云朵在天空四散，把天地分开。正在这时，太阳从远处东方的光亮处升起。它是那样红，然而又那么娇嫩以致我们可以用肉眼来观察它。从我们吃惊的观赏者中发出的一阵轻微的欢呼划过山峰，太阳升得越来越高了，每升一步都给它本身增加了力量和光辉。它炫耀着威力，驱走了黑暗、寒冷和大地的苦难，并给人们带来光明、温暖和幸福。
这一奇观和大自然的伟大使我们完全惊愕了。我们像天真的孩子一样跳着、喊着，和山峰一起沐浴在太阳的晨曦中，流连忘返。
