再次细读《和平与战争》，渐渐地，我发现其涉及的哲学、政治、经济，军事和宗教等各方面，共同构成了一个庞大的思想体系，这也是托尔斯泰的思想结晶所在。托尔斯泰一生始终在思索和探寻，环境的变迁使托尔斯泰的思想和信仰不断发生着变化。在和平美好的环境中，他追求善和美;在面对残酷的战争时，他的思想又一次经历着洗礼，他曾把美好的情感屈从于战争的现实。
然而，始终不变的是，即使面对战争，他的内心仍在关心那更广阔的精神与永恒。关于精神与永恒的问题，他多次借以作品中皮埃尔和安德烈的大脑来探索，借以他们的谈论来商讨。
作为思想家，托尔斯泰也矛盾与彷徨过，他的思想的逐渐成熟，也像《战争与和平》的小女孩，经历过几场所谓爱情后成了一位不修边幅却更成熟沉稳的母亲;随和善良、无贵族架子的皮埃尔，有私生子变成继承人，由不敢爱变成婚后幸福的丈夫，也更有责任和担当;安德烈冷峻聪明，但欠缺宽容，在经历爱情失败后，他在战争中去，在前，他也得到彻底的醒悟。
其实，思想的产生与提升，是需要磨练的。托尔斯泰身为贵族，却蔑视贵族的腐朽享乐，一生都在追求真理。他的思想觉悟使他意识到世界的不公，他希望能帮助农民等下层阶级，却得不到农民的信任，也得不到世人的理解，连家人也同他产生了隔阂。托尔斯泰不如意的经历，似乎是成就他不平凡的思想的关键，也成就了他的多部文学巨著。
