看到周围许许多多的中外游客，我情不自禁地问爸爸：“长城那么古老，为什么有这么多游客来游览？”爸爸回答道：“一方面因为长城有着两千多年的历史，能够见到保存时间这么长的大型建筑物是非常难得的。另一方面嘛，等你长大了，自己去体会。”……
四年后的今天，我已经是一名六年级的学生了，我虽然没有再度游览过长城，可它在我的脑海里却越来越清晰，因为我深知，它是我们中华民族不屈不扰精神的象征。

过了那道关卡，我们便登上了长城，放眼望去，发现长城与天际交汇在一起，怎么也看不到尽头，都是一望无际的古砖的颜色，从远处看，就好似一条金黄的龙，蜿蜒地盘旋在崇山峻岭之中。长城有五六米宽，可以十几个人并肩而行，就像课文《长城》中写得那样：“五六匹马可同时通过。”站在烽火台上，俯下身子向城墙下看，就可以发现自己身处地平线以上几十米的位置。那些烽火台年代久远，站在上面总感觉自己要掉下去了，令人望而生畏。
因为长城是为了防止北方匈奴南下而建造的，所以可以看到许多军事用的建筑。其中，最引人注目的就是烽火台，烽火台其目的就是为了通信，所以它比长城上的其他建筑都高，我站在四号烽火台上，眺望远方，看见了几多高山。而且，这山不是一峰独秀，也不是三五峰呼应，而是万仞千山，崇山峻岭。有的拔地而起，直插去霄，山势十分壮观；有的山靠在一起，宛如热恋情人；有的山是斜的，看似摇摇欲坠，令人踌躇不前，望而生畏；有的拱着腰，好像一位德高望重的老人；还有的则亭亭玉立，颇似窈窕淑女。
直到太阳吻着西山时，鸟儿的歌声才把我唤回。时间不早了，我恋恋不舍地走上返回旅馆的客车，同长城告别。

江南八达岭最难走了，它的台阶很多，弯来弯去，像条龙似的，向远望去，母亲河在缓缓流动。
我们还看见了双层敌台，分上下两层，可以打敌人，休息用，我们还看见了大炮，大炮黑乎乎的，摸起来冰凉冰凉的，我小时候还在上面坐过呢！
江滨公园还没有到，我的脚就像装了铅似的，走不了路。但我告诉自己坚持就是胜利。啊，终于到了，我们大吃特吃起来。
