Now we have to change some of our plans. This afternoon we will go to a place of interest nearby. At about three a'clock, we will go to the shopping centre. You can do some shopping there. 一到站，爸爸马上去买地铁票，准备去上海科技馆参观。一进馆内，一大批野生动物居民映入眼帘。有甩着鼻子的大象，有树那么高的长颈鹿，有撒开四蹄奔跑的斑马，有火速追赶猎物的金钱豹、、、、、、这么多的动物标本仿佛把你带入了热带森林，带进了奇妙的'动物王国。瞧！那边北风呼啸，大雪纷飞，北极熊咆哮着，雪狼威风凛冽的站着，一点儿也感觉不到寒冷。接着我们到了二楼，在楼上有许多展馆，其中我最喜欢机器人世界，因为可以和高长智商的机器人下五子棋、打乒乓球、还可以欣赏机器人跳“同步舞”；参观机器人画的肖像画。我在这个场馆里乐不思蜀、流连忘返。其次是地壳探秘，观看奇妙的晶体:宝石、翡翠、玉石等等，还可以观赏火山爆发四维图，体验地震历险。
夜晚的上海是美丽的，随着人头攒动的人群，我们走向外滩，看见欧式建筑物矗立在马路两旁，建筑物上闪烁着星星点点的五彩灯光，悬挂着五星红旗，美极了！看着对江一幢幢高楼直插云霄，”东方明珠“最具代表性，”东方明珠“是由三个大小不一的圆球串成，是上海一颗璀璨的明珠。看着这条江，让我不禁想起了杭州与滨江也有一条，只不过一个叫：”黄浦江“一个叫”钱塘江“。见着天色渐晚，我们一家人走回了宾馆。
第二天下午我们一家人登上动车返回杭州。虽然有点不舍，可马上星期一要上学啊！不得不说：”上海，再见！“

Partly autobiographical, the novel abounds with social criticism and sinister gothic elements.
