On summer holiday my parents took me to Beijing. We stayed at Huabei Hotel. On the first day, we went to the Great Wall. The Great Wall is very long and old. It has millions of bricks. Each brick is very big and heavy. Lots of people from different countries like climbing the Great Wall. We felt very tired when we climbed to the top of the Great Wall.
We also went to the Palace Museum. The Palace Museum has 9999 palaces. It has a very long history. I bought a lot of souvenirs of the Palace Museum. What nice palaces these are! I visited the Palace Museum and felt excited. If you want to know more about the Palace Museum, you can go to Beijing and have a look. The following days, we went to the Summer Palace, Tian Tan, North Lake and Xiang Hill. I now know more about the history of China. I also like modern Beijing. The 2008 Olympic Games will be held in Beijing.
Later, I went back with my parents by train. I really enjoyed the trip to Beijing. I like this trip!

路子是我的发小，前一阵子他向我吐苦水。事情的原委是：路子一直是班上稳定的倒数第二名，他很清楚自己的处境，考试前总是突击学习一下，“努力”不让自己坐上第一把交椅。但晴天也会有霹雳，上个月“第一名”突然退学了，他毫无疑问的在月考中得了“第一名”。我当时被他深深的忧伤怔住，有些哭笑不得，心里吐槽：“倒数第一和倒数第二又有什么分别呢?”过后，我才慢慢嚼出些味道来，是因为我想到了一个故事，两个人在森林中遇到一只熊，那么对手不是熊，只要比另一个人跑的快就是胜利。这两个故事的解释就是：侥幸心理，人都有侥幸心理，而侥幸往往是对比弱的一方出现的。
“比”字组词可为攀比。我有许多同学爱攀比，比吃、比穿、比玩。什么都拿来比，什么都可以比。穿的要与众不同，吃的要奢侈，玩的要新。攀比似乎是自然习惯，信手拈来。我从前不明白为什么有的人学习不好，与人为难，招同学烦恼，还整日潇潇洒洒，趾高气扬，原来是他们在某些方面自认为有优越感，或是自认为长得帅，或是自认为有钱，用一句话形容就是“镜子和钱包可以回答生活中我的大部分为什么和凭什么”(引自网络。面对当下崇尚颜值和金钱的社会风尚，这个结果似乎是正常的。但如此这般又有何意义，与相貌一般的人比是帅，与更帅的比是一般;与贫困的人比是有钱，与更有钱的比是贫穷。长此以往，长得一般的人为了帅去整容，长得帅的人为了更帅去整容。人们越来越忘记人是有内在美和外在美的，如果这样一直攀比下去，只会在远离内在美的路上越走越远。
我与路子有着类似的经历。记得那年我初二，在班级考试的排名总是十五名左右，我当时的目标就是进入前十名，为了这个目的，我绞尽脑汁的学习，甚至耍些小心机，常常凌晨四点起来，趴在床上学一个小时，然后再睡觉，隐藏自己的学习。然而，万般努力却终究没有回报，我顶多考试前进了一两名。看着坐在前排谈笑风生的前十名，心中五味杂陈，他们不用努力就可以轻松做到，而我如何努力也做不到，我真的绝望了。我开始烦躁，自暴自弃，我同父母说要退学，我逃学回家，最终却以父母的强制拒绝再次回到学校。我久久的忧伤，成绩一直下滑，结果中考也没能考上好的高中。
渐渐的，我才明白，追求优秀，追求好的成绩没有错，错的是与他人攀比，只要一直默默的进步，不放弃就好，给自己留一些清淡余地，才会有中正的结局。
