有些小动物经常受小螃蟹欺负：可怜的小鱼被小螃蟹夹得直喊妈妈；小乌龟被小螃蟹夹得全身缩进壳里；小虾米被小螃蟹夹得一下子逃得无影无踪。
有一次，小动物们正在海底嬉戏。小鱼忽然发现了一个小鱼钩，想起妈妈说过小鱼钩很危险，小鱼赶紧招呼小动物们躲到远远地地方。唯独小螃蟹一个人站在原地不动，小螃蟹自高自大地说：“一个小鱼钩就想钓我水中之王，你也太小看我了吧。我用大钳子夹一下水草就断了，我用大钳子剪一下小木段，小木段一下子就碎了。看我把你这个破鱼钩夹成两段！”小螃蟹用大钳子去夹小鱼钩，夹了一下，小鱼钩纹丝不动。小螃蟹很生气地说：“我一定要把你这个小鱼钩夹碎！”说完，它用尽全身力气地夹住鱼钩。忽然，鱼钩开始慢慢上升，带着小螃蟹也慢慢地向上升。小螃蟹觉得不对劲，想松开钳子逃走。可是，鱼钩紧紧地卡在它的大钳子上，小螃蟹拼命挣扎，还是甩不脱鱼钩。小螃蟹害怕了，大声地喊了起来：“救命啊！救命啊！”躲在远处观望的小动物们听见小螃蟹的求救声，都来帮助小螃蟹。他们有的拉身子，有的拉左脚，有的拉右脚，一起用力。只听“啪”的一声，小螃蟹的'钳子断了，终于脱开了鱼钩，小螃蟹得救了。
被解救的小螃蟹有点羞愧地问：“我以前经常欺侮你们，你们为什么还会来就我？”
小鱼说：“虽然你以前有些蛮不讲理，但我们是朋友。朋友之间要互相帮助，不是吗？我们刚才还把你的钳子弄断了，真是对不起你。”
小螃蟹低着脑袋说：“我得小钳子没有关系，过段时间就会长出新的。你们对我真是太好了，我欺侮你们，关键时刻却是你们救了我，我以前实在是太混球了。”
过了几个月，小螃蟹长出了新的钳子。它用钳子修剪水草，小鱼就不再被水草缠住；它用钳子帮乌龟清理壳上的海藻；它用钳子帮小虾挖洞，修新房。小动物们都越来越喜欢小螃蟹，大家快乐地生活中美丽的海底世界。
