On Christmas morning,the children wake up very early.Some even turn on the light at two o'clock,and most of them are awake by six o'clock although it is not light in England for another hour or two at this time of the year.Children look for their presents,and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared.At about one o'clock in the afternoon,the Christmas dinner is brought in.The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten.Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it.The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas hollidays comes to an end.

那是什么原因改变了这个男孩呢？怎么会想成为一名小学教师呢？我想，在他的生命中缺少不了一个影响他一生的人——最后一次转学后的校长。那一次，他又被老师请出了教室，面对校长，他知道又会有很多无奈和解释。没想到，这个小学的校长，请他出席学校音乐会。他一再解释自己会发出怪声，影响音乐会，但是校长依然坚持。当然，情况就如他想的那样，他无奈地破坏了整场音乐会的气氛，全校学生不断地投来指责和异言的眼光。音乐会结束了，校长在台上问是谁不断发出怪声影响了纪律时，在场的人把手都指向了他。校长将他请上台，让他拥有了一次向所有人解释自己身体状况的机会。他胆战心惊地说到“我得了妥瑞症，我的神经出现了错误的指令，让我不能控制，不时发出一些怪声和抽动。除此之外，我和正常人没有什么两样。我放松的时候，症状能够减轻，越是紧张，症状越严重。如果你们可以像正常人一样地看待我，我的症状反而会缓和一些。”说完这一切后，校长投来了微笑，“说的很棒！”于是同学们掌声四起，理解万岁，男孩充满幸福地走下台。
原来，校长故意设计了这一切，他想让学校的老师和孩子明白，不要用异言的眼光和嘲笑去对待周围看上去不正常的人，要理解他们不正常的原因。正是校长的这一番行动和台下的掌声给了他一生追求教师梦的勇气。他要让这些带着有色眼镜的老师明白，他和他们不一样，他的教育是平等的，包容的，理解的。过程是曲折的，结果是美好的，在失败了24次，经历第25次面试之后，他终于实现了成为一名小学老师的'梦想。
上课了，他让孩子们提问，关于新老师的“怪异特点”，孩子们充满了好奇，但布莱恩有问必答，即使孩子们会取笑，甚至被骂了“怪胎”。他只是幽默的回答，微笑，并且悉心地指引，对或是错让孩子们从内心体验。而并不是强迫他们接受任何既定概念。并允许他们保有自己的特点，鼓励，并且开导。
对于这样一个用心在教导，用心在关爱着自己的老师，无邪的孩子们很快就喜欢上了他。他说，因为孩子们的眼光不一样，他们不会觉得你不能做什么，他们会想看，你要做些什么。
他的用心是肥沃的土壤，他的耐心是温暖的阳光，而他的启发是灌溉的雨水。这样的环境下，不管是怎样的小树苗，都能以最快速最茁壮的方式成长。
所以，正式任职的这一年，他就获得了年度最佳新进老师奖。然而，上台领奖时，却由于情绪激动，又开始无法克制不断地发出怪声。台下的母亲开始担心，此刻，从不看好儿子教师梦的父亲，握住了母亲的手，眼神坚定并微笑着说：“他可以的。”
电影最后，他在领奖台上说，不管发生什么，都不要放弃追寻自己的梦想。

It has been two weeks since I last wrote to you. I am so sorry that I don‘t write you very often.
However, I have been busy with my preparation
for the final exams. As you know, I‘m coming home on Jan.14th. But before that, I have to take the final exams for all six classes I‘m taking this semester. Recently I have been in and out of the library a lot to do some research on the term paper for one of the classes. Most professors gave out the review problems already so that the students can study for the final. I think I‘m doing okay studying for the final.
Besides reviewing materials, I‘m also planning to host the New Year party of my department. You know there are so many talented people in my Communications major, but they picked me to host the party! Great, isn‘t it?
