车水马龙的街头，喧嚣声此起彼伏，谁都没有注意到那块站牌下两抹相依为命的身影。
他，蓬头垢面，衣衫褴褛，面无表情，双眼却直勾勾的盯着身边的它，眼里满是柔情。
它，毛色浑浊，低头懒散地把玩着一只被人遗弃的玩具。两只肉墩墩的爪子惹人喜爱。
他们相依为命，浪迹天涯，他将自己的烦闷与不解倾诉于它，它在他温暖的怀中安然入睡。
然而现在，染长街，它闭眼倒在街旁，他冷眼观望，心中早已泪流成河，他没将那份撕心裂肺表现出来，而选择了默默忍受，他知道他无法凭一己之力去保护它。
时光倒流，几十分钟前，一阵急促的脚步声从站牌远处传来，他不以为然，心想一定是谁为了赶某辆公交车而如此仓促，它依旧在把玩玩具，仿佛一切有他在就安好。然而，脚步声接近，过后，它却看见一根长棍，笔直的刺入自己的喉咙。

此时的长街，流成河，一命环卫工人拎走了它的尸体，几名消防人员清理着地面的迹，他仿佛喝醉了，摇摇晃晃的离开车站，他仿佛还看到了它在他身旁蹦着跳着追着蝴蝶。

这篇文章字里行间都流露着作者对珍珠鸟的喜爱之情。人和动物是好朋友，仿佛在千百年前就有了，这感情是无比深厚的。我还记得一个片段的大概内容：作者让珍珠鸟栖息在幽林似的环境中，而且不去打扰它们。《珍珠鸟》的作者不像其他养鸟者那样，只是为了欣赏鸟儿那色彩斑斓的羽毛，倾听鸟儿那美妙动听的歌喉，就让鸟儿成天生活在惊恐中。
某些家长把鸟儿买回来，放在笼子里，然后就对孩子们说：“这是给你们玩的!”孩子们就会听着他们的话对着鸟笼又踢又打，把木棍伸进笼子里挑弄鸟儿，促使让鸟儿惊恐地飞来飞去。大人们不但不加以阻止，还要拍手叫好。鸟儿本来是自由的，如果让那些养鸟人为鸟儿设身处地地想一想，也许他们就知道怎样做了。 还有一个令我记忆犹新的片段：珍珠鸟雏儿在作者伏案写作时，扒在作者的肩上轻轻地进入甜美的梦乡。
我读着，仿佛正亲眼看见这只雏鸟正甜美入睡的情景，眯着眼睛，多么可爱! 相比之下，现在，许多猎人为牟取暴利，去捕人类的好朋友，大熊猫、孟加拉虎、非洲象……濒临绝种的原因，就因为它们拥有了人们渴望拥有的美丽的皮毛、洁白坚硬的象牙!在一场场模特表演上，模特儿们披着貂皮大衣，穿着鳄鱼皮鞋，戴着松鼠毛领巾，一转身，迎风摆动的不但是动物的生命，还有腥!捕动物!这是多么丧绝人性的行为!这还是人吗?简直是禽兽! 千百年前，动物是人类的朋友。
