午后，阳光、蓝天、白云、微风。冬日里难得的好天气，远处如帆状大楼的玻璃幕墙，在阳光下刺眼的明亮。运河被冰封，阳光洒在冰面，钓鱼的老者穿着黑色的棉袄坐在马扎上，在冰反射的光影里，专心致志的望着冰洞一动不动。一直黑白花纹的土狗，跑跑停停，东瞅西闻，试着走上冰面，又忽的一下跳上岸，抖抖前爪，继续往前走。运河桥上，人们往来穿梭，汽车、自行车、货运三轮车、行人，熙熙攘攘，远远望去，仿佛一副动感的市井油画。
运河大堤被修葺一新，长长的石条护墙让大堤看上去更加的结实，风顺着运河穿过城市，仿佛城市的呼吸，为这座城市添了许多清新的空气。这是一条千年流淌的大河，水势不复再有，但是气势依然十足。想想曾经就在这河面上，千帆竟流，万船千里而来又循流而去，该是何等的壮观景象。城市在变、运河在变，沧海桑田的历史过程里，唯一不变的该是这阳光。阳光从来不吝啬光和热，千年的世事，恒在一抹阳光下，世事转换，生命就像停留在花朵上的蝴蝶，愈发的渺小，转瞬间就已经飞远。
家乡溯运河而上，在几百里外运河边的一个小镇上，小时候的运河已经有了枯水期，却没有断流。小镇边上是高高的运河闸，每年夏季的丰水期，开闸放水，顺流而下的远处，大人们张网以待，渔获变成饭桌上香喷喷的记忆。夏季的运河，在两岸绿树的映照下，生机勃勃，浅弯缓流处，小伙伴们撒开手中的老牛缰绳，放下割草的镰刀，一个猛子扎下河去，一下午的时光就这样泡过去。运河浅滩上的'水草，枝叶苍翠，碧绿的叶子在阳光下亮的晃眼。小伙伴从河底挖上来河泥，远远的抛出去，把一群老母鸭惊得“嘎、嘎”大叫。几只雪白的鹅，静静的在远处吃着水草，时而引颈望向这处的热闹，继续把脑袋伸到水下，自顾自的忙碌。
水给予家乡灵气，给予土地生机，给予人们生活的热情。炊烟袅袅的傍晚，运河在夕阳的映照下如诗如画。运河边的菜园里，农活归来的人们趁着晚饭的空闲时间，正在给蔬菜浇水。一桶一桶的水从运河里提上来，一桶一桶灌进菜地。人们彼此打着招呼。顺手从菜地里撸一把小葱，揪一根黄瓜，摘一个西红柿，放到桶里洗一洗，就塞到嘴里吃着。我和小伙伴从菜地接过大人递过来的甜瓜，开心的吃着，你追我赶的嬉闹。(
秋天的运河鱼美藕肥，运河缓湾处连着村子里的水塘。把通向运河一面的水道用大网截住，人们就开始捕鱼。偶尔会有好几斤重的大鲤鱼从网里跃出，溅起的水花让人们欢呼不已。荷花已经凋零，残落的荷叶下就是荷花藕，大人们穿着水裤把藕踩出来，放到大大的木板上，送到岸边。刚踩出的荷花藕很甜，小伙伴们争抢着掰下一段，在水里洗洗就开始大吃起来。待到晌午炊烟升起，家家户户都飘出令人馋涎欲滴的鱼香。
大运河流淌千年，一水千里。北起北京，南达杭州，流经北京、河北、天津、山东、江苏、浙江六个省市，沟通了海河、黄河、淮河、长江、钱塘江五大水系，全长1794公里。它滋润运河两岸的土地，惠及亿万百姓。大运河在北方断流了，但它南水北运的功能没有丧失，它源自中华民族的勤劳和智慧，终将也会永远惠及这个民族。
