捡垃圾的老人估摸着有六十多岁，脸色黑得像煤炭，一团花白的头发遮挡着那刀刻般的额头，一双松枝般的手暴起一条条青筋。我走上前关切地询问老人：老人家，你辛苦了，你这么大年纪怎么还要出来收废品？说完我递上两元钱，那是我省下的零用钱。老人说：乖孩子，谢谢你了，我有俩个儿子，他们都去外面打工了，也不负担我了，我只有用自己的双手养活自己，但我没有劳力了，只能来收废品了。说着，老人眼里淌出了几颗浑浊的眼泪。
我听了，心里既吃惊又有点气愤，父母亲辛辛苦苦把孩子养大，寄托着无限的希望，可是父母亲老了，儿女们却丢下老人不管，真是不孝啊。我们中华民族讲究尊老爱幼，感恩戴德！况且糕羊都知道跪乳，牛知道反刍，难道我们人还不如牛羊，不知道感恩吗？老人的儿子太不孝了！我想安慰安慰老人，却不知道怎么开口。
这一次随意的散步，让我懂得了许多做人的道理：父母亲为了我们吃辛吃苦，任劳任怨，他们常常在烈日下累得汗流浃背，在风雨中淋得像落汤鸡。我们长大了，要懂得回报父母亲，孝敬父母亲，赡养老人。如果每一个做儿女的都能做到这一点，街上收废品的'老人，行乞的老人就会绝迹吧，那么我们的社会就会是真正的充满爱的社会，一个和谐的社会。
