资深高考语文阅卷人、华东师大中文系教授王光祖坦承，由于作文阅卷主观性很强，就像做菜肴，各人的口味也不尽相同，所以每年都会有上千篇作文由于初评意见不一，被提交到阅卷中心组复议，改高改低的情况十分普遍。以今年为例，有篇作文初评时第一位老师判了20分，第二位老师给了43分，结果中心组反复阅读后，给出了64分的高分。而另一篇作文初评是70分，但中心组老师复评时一致认为，该文华而不实，脂粉气太浓，结果改到了60分以下。

复旦附中语文特级教师黄玉峰说，有的阅卷老师在打分时也是顾虑重重，打低了或打高了，都生怕复评人认为自己的水平不够，连作文的好坏也看不出，所以一般都是给个中间分数，高考作文指导《高考作文判分为何跌宕不定》。
10多万份作文，要求100多名老师在7天里判完卷，工作量很大，极个别作文被看走眼，也在情理之中。上师大附中语文特级教师彭世强说，为了适合应试的功利，有的老师就会传授一些所谓的 高考作文“技巧”，比如要求考生开头与结尾一定要写得精彩，最好多用排比句，多用名人警句等。如此教法，简直是把有有肉的作文，变成了纯粹的\'技巧性机械训练。
