First they went out and found two straight sticks of the same length. They brought them back home and tied them with a piece of string into the shape of a cross. Then, they spread some brightly coloured paper over the frame and glued it around the string.They stuck a tail made of paper to one of the corners, and tied a long string to the centre of the kite.
On the next windy day, they took the kite to a hill near their house and flew it.

放假的一天，我在家里非常无聊，不能看电视也不能上网玩游戏，由于妈妈说怕把眼睛弄近视了。我不知道该干什么好。于是，我低头看了看客厅的地板，地板上有非常多黑黑的脚印和一层厚厚的灰尘，我想：肯定是妈妈非常长时间没拖地扫地了。平时妈妈上班那么累，而且我还在地上扔一些果皮纸屑，不如，我就帮妈妈做一次家务吧！
说做就做。我先拿着扫帚和撮子，用扫帚把地上的果皮纸屑扫进撮子里，然后把垃圾倒掉，就开始拖地了。我先拿了一个桶，然后拧开水龙头，把里面接一半水，再用拖把沾一点水，把水沥干。我拿着拖把来到客厅，刚想开始拖地，就想起妈妈拖地时对我说的话：拖地时要右手向下左手向上的拿着拖把，要不然，地就拖不干净。我先把拖鞋底弄干净，然后按妈妈的方法拿拖把，从门旁边开始拖。我拖了一遍觉得非常累，而且地也没拖干净，就产生了想放弃的念头，我心想：要是我放弃了，不就是半途而废吗？所以我不能放弃。我拖了10分钟，终于把地拖好了，看见客厅的地板干干净净的，我非常高兴，这时候才知道了成功的喜悦。

然后，我再用一块含有洗衣粉水的湿毛巾去擦桌子，我原以为桌子上没上面脏东西，可使劲一擦，却有一处非常难擦的油渍，我左思右想，就是想不出对付它的方法。突然，我又想气了洗洁精，我挤了一点，涂在清洁球上，用力擦几下，咦？油渍真得不见了，我擦完了桌子，又急急忙忙地去拖地。
我把拖把撒上了几点洗衣粉，在放到水里浸蚀，我用拖把绕着正方形的样子拖了起来，没几分钟就搞定了。啊！想想干家务活多累呀，不止这一天，妈妈每天都这样子，我应该帮妈妈分担一下，然而我也一定要好好学习，将来做一个有出息的人！
