有一天，我乘上了时光机器，按下“2500年，地球，中国”的按钮，一眨眼，来到了神秘的未来世界。
突然间，我落在一块草坪上，我知道已经到了，但强忍着没睁开眼睛，我幻想着：车水马龙的商业街，琳琅满目的商场，一幢幢像巨人一样的摩天大楼，园林清雅的风景区点缀在城市的各个角落。未来真美好啊！我迫不及待地睁开眼睛，让我大吃一惊！只见脚下杂草丛生，根本不是什么“草坪”，远远望去尘土飞扬，一片废墟，太阳烤着龟裂的大地，大地上荒草凄凄，根本没有生机！
我目瞪口呆，不敢相信自己所看到的一切，我喊了几声：“有人吗？有人吗？”突然一个个子矮小，皮肤黝黑的老人不知从哪里跳了出来，他手里拿着刀，我惊恐万分，我把我来的经过告诉了他，只见他连声叹气，说出了地球大变样的原因。
原来，在近几个世纪中，由于人类不停地污染自己的母亲----地球，导致地球渐渐虚弱下来，母亲慷慨地为人类提供资源，可人类得寸进尺，随意浪费资源，到处疯狂地开采，自然母亲就生病了，但人类并没有停下黑手。母亲发着高烧，终于有一天，她爆发了，温度急剧升高，温室效应增强，大气层被破坏，水资源枯竭，几年都没下雨，动植物频临灭绝，人类只好用人工降雨，但每人每天的用水、用电受到了严格限制，牛羊都成了一级保护动物！社会上盗贼频出，人类产生恐慌。为了抢夺食物，爆发了第三、四、五次世界大战，流成河，的人不计其数，不仅如此，还爆发了传染病，人类生活在水生火热之中。人类尝试了移民，可飞船却撞上了太空垃圾，船坠毁了。孩子，请告诉那时候的人类，不要重蹈覆辙，记住：“我们只有一个地球，否则，我们别无去处。但存方寸地，留与子孙耕！”突然，我仿佛掉进了黑洞，掉得越来越深……
