When they sleep, they don’t eat any food.Because they wall hibernation. But, when they are thirsty. They come out of the sand. So, we must give water to them to drink.

在一个森林里有一片小树林，小树林里有不少的小动物，有爱唱歌会报喜的喜鹊，有会送信的白鸽，有喜爱飞到高空唱歌的云雀，有会给树木看病的“森林医生”啄木鸟，有爱吃青草、爱跳跃奔跑的小兔，有喜欢在地上打滚的刺猬，还有在水池里游泳的青蛙和鱼儿。小动物们在树林里生活得非常愉快、幸福。
一天清晨，小动物们还在睡梦中，小树林周围突然响起了“突突突”“轰隆隆”的响声，把它们一个个全给惊醒了。“出什么事了？”“我去看看。”啄木鸟第一个从巢里起身，朝树林外有声音的方向飞去。原来，有一支施工队伍正在树林里的施工，十来辆推土机伸出大大的铁牙，正在用力铲土，还有几十个工人在工作，其中一个高个子男人吹着口哨指挥。一个女人一只手挥动着红色的小旗，另一只手在朝别人比比划划。还有一个男人拿着测量工具，忙着测量呢。
“坏了，有人想破坏这片树林！”啄木鸟赶紧飞到树林子里，告诉了所有的小动物。小动物们快气坏了，他们没有想到城里的人竟然打起了这片树林的主意。在云雀的提议下，他们决定到小池塘边开一个讨论会，商量一下怎么办。
“原来，我们的树林很大，我奶奶在的时候说，现在市中心的广场原来也这片树林的一部分呢，可现在城市的楼房就要建到了我们树林边了，这还不够，还要将我们这片树林推倒、铲平盖楼房！”云雀用清脆的声音说。
白鸽气愤地说：“我们周围原来还有稻田呢，我们本可以到稻田去捉害虫的，现在看来小池塘都没得呆的了，城里这些房产开发商真是挣钱红了眼，一点良心都没有。”青蛙更是愤愤不平：“都怪那些目光短浅的官员，要不是他们随便搞开发区，树林会越来越少吗？”“过去森林密布时，我们啄木鸟为树木行医忙个不停。现在树没有了，我们这些森林医生都快要失业了。”啄木鸟伤心透顶。
小刺猬气得直流泪，他说：“原来我们可以到处玩耍，现在只要有人在，我们就不敢出去玩，他们要捉了我们炒菜吃”。动物们七嘴八舌地议论着，心理都挺不平的，但都没想什么办法。最后喜鹊说：“我明天还是再打探一下情况吧，万一他们并不真的想毁坏我们的树林呢。”第二天，喜鹊一大早就起床了，她飞过小河一看，糟了，推土机开到树林子来了，有几棵大樟树都被推倒了。十几位工人正在用电锯锯着呢，两台拖车正运送大石块，三辆装满着水泥的大卡车也朝树林这边开来……
第三天，情况更糟，树林子里的树有三分之一被推倒，几十辆卡车轰轰隆隆……“我们得想个办法！”“不能再迟疑！”热心的啄木鸟挨个通知了小动物们，他们又聚在小池塘边召开紧急会议，在会上，大家提出许多办法。小云雀提出大家各自逃命，麻雀听了顶了他一句：“你真是个胆小鬼。”小兔提出，大家都一起搬家。但很快就被鱼儿否决，他说：“不行！你以为你能搬到一个有草吃的地方？现在到处是树林被砍，土地沙化，你搬还是得。”青蛙说：“要不，咱们大家向建筑工人求情吧！说不准他们会停止破坏树林的”。小兔子打断他的话，说：“你以为他们不同意就行了，他们说话不算数的……”
就这样，他们从早晨一直讨论到了下午，眼看太阳都要落山了，最后，还是啄木鸟拿出了一个好主意。他说：“市长是城市里最大的官，他说话谁都听，咱们得让他支持我们。”他们决定写一封求助信给市长，能说会道的云雀亲笔起草，由白鸽送给市长。信是这样写的：
尊敬的市长先生：
您好！
我们是城市郊区一片树林子里的小动物们。
现在有人要毁掉我们的树林，修建开发区和楼房，这样我们就没有了自己的家，也无法再给您和市民们歌唱跳舞了。城市也会因此少了一份新鲜空气，少了一片幽静的绿地，您们的孩子们周末再也没有到大自然玩耍的地方了。
不知您能否制止这种行为，让我们拥有一个安宁的家，也让城市更加美丽。
祝安！
小树林子里的全体公民。
市长读了这封信，感动不已。立即下令停止开发工程，保护树林，并责成环保局请环境专家进行了论证，专家们想出了一个既保护树林，又能创造经济效益的好办法，就是把树林建成一个森林公园。市长亲自出席了专家论证会，他决心改变过去的做法，把环境保护放在每一位，还拨了一项专款，让环保局组建一个建筑队和森林绿化队，将那片树林改建成森林公园。
在森林专家的指导下，建筑工人和绿化工人把树林里那个小池塘修成了一个人工湖。他们从远处引来清水，还在湖里种了莲藕。夏天来了，小湖里荷叶田田，小青蛙可以坐在荷叶上乘凉唱歌，鱼儿也可以自由自在地游泳。一棵棵珍贵的`树苗也从各地移来，树林里的树种变得越来越多。为了防止游人伤害树林的小动物，园林工人还设置了不少警示牌，告诫行人不要践踏花木，更不要乱砍树木。后来，市长还下令将树林子周围的违章建筑进行了拆迁，让绿化工人栽上各种花果树木。
小树林真的变成了绿色的氧吧。小动物们又过上了快乐幸福的生活。
由于环境越来越好，不少别处的小动物也搬到了这里来安家落户，树林变成了小动物的乐园。每逢周末，来这里散步休息的市民也多了起来，他们来这里听小鸟们唱歌，来看小兔子赛跑，看小猴子爬树表演。可开心啦！
一些小动物和市民交上了朋友，市民们常常带一些好吃的食物给他们。冬天来了，下了一场大雪，森林公园被大雪覆盖，小鸟儿又冻又饿，有的市民送来了棉絮，做成小窝，给小鸟们居住。他们还带来一些食物给刺猬和小兔吃。
树林公园成了动物和人们共同的乐园。
