我的母亲，其实并不是贤妻良母型的女人，但在父亲的上班时间调整后，却不得不尝试着做起饭来。
于是我那只会煮泡面的母亲便开始在绮丽的黄昏中，独自守着袅袅的炊烟，为我煲着各式米粥。母亲学做米粥的过程并不漫长，在烧焦了几次米饭，烫了几个水泡之后，也可以像模像样地为每天披着一身夜色、风尘仆仆赶回来的我端上一碗乳白的、热气腾腾的米粥了。也就是这时起，母亲身上沉睡多年的女人的天赋被这浓浓的米香唤醒，频频出现在菜市场熙熙攘攘的人群中，家里的电锅也像京剧脸谱一般每天变幻着各式花样。而我则心安理得地享受着母亲每天带给我的惊喜。
米粥清香温暖，尤其是在冬季。还记得那个冬天我提早回家，本想和母亲打个招呼，却在看到眼前的一幕时保持了沉默。我看到了天下最美的女人。她一手拿着大汤勺在锅中来回搅拌，一手拿着本菜谱慢慢研究着，她时不时用手臂拭去欲滴的汗水，用小拇指勾起遮眼的碎发，围裙系带在风扇的吹动下不安分地鼓动着。落日金色的余晖映着她，窗棂把她的影子分割成不规则的几块，映在地上，更映进了我的心里，在心底无限放大……
上了初三，总是在兵荒马乱的复习之夜，在一堆堆耀武扬威的习题试卷缝隙中，一手撑着深不可测的夜，一手写下无尽的题海。而这时，总会有那熟悉的温感，那熟悉的味道来唤醒我濒临窒息般钝重的脑袋——母亲端着一碗核桃杏仁粥进来。我接过粥，细品它散出的热流、溢出的暗香，陶醉于这无与伦比的米粥。可当我看到母亲指甲上因剥核桃留下的斑驳痕迹，我却哽咽，沉默了。
“妈，你为什么喜欢煲米粥?”
“米粥有营养，对身体好哩!”妈妈回答道，却神情突转，顿了一顿，“再说了，你最近压力也大，放学后又不往家里跑……班主任找我谈过，说你不在状态……我很担心，又不敢对你说过激的话……只能煲好粥，等你回家……”
我捧着这碗米粥，突然感到无比的重量。我低头，埋进碗里，盈眶的热泪一下子就被热气蒸发。咬牙颤抖着，极力掩饰着自己的情绪。而母亲却拍拍我的背，一把把我搂入怀中。
原来母亲并不喜欢煲粥，而是把她那颗对儿子关爱担忧的心放在锅中慢慢的煎熬。当我在外面挥霍青春，却不知母亲在家守着锅粥焦急等待，而母亲唯一能做的，就是将对儿子的爱渗入浓浓的米粥中。
米粥，这特别的米粥，映着夕阳下母亲忙碌的身影，在袅袅的炊烟中，轰然沉入我记忆的余晖中。
