Dear Mary,
Thanks for your last letter. I'm so glad that you have been able (at last! to arrange a holiday in Australia. As I fear I won't be able to meet you at the airport when you arrive, nor will I be able to be home until later in the afternoon, so here are some instructions and suggestions. There is a bus from the airport to the city. It is much cheaper than a cab. Take the bus to the city and ask to get off at Town Hall railway station. To get to my place in the eastern suburbs you have three options. You can either take a cab, a bus or the train. I suggest you take the train, since the airport bus will leave you right at the station. Get off at Cliff Station. From there you can either walk to my place (about ten minutes or take a taxi. Probably you should take a taxi as you will have luggage.
When you arrive at my flat, ring the intercom for Flat 2. My friend Lillian will be at home and she will open the front door for you and let you into my flat. Presumably you will be tired and want to sleep. But if you feel like some exercise after that long flight, you could stroll down to Cooper Park, which is only ten minutes away ? you can see it from the window. 一走进公园，首先映入眼帘的是一个圆形的大花坛，有各种各样的鲜花，姹紫嫣红，争奇斗艳，中间有一座大约两米高的漂亮的假山。微风拂来，垂柳倒映在湖水中，就像仙女在空中翩翩起舞，婀娜多姿，美丽极了！
我们沿着弯弯曲曲的石板路来到了一座小拱桥。站在桥拱上，一颗颗高大挺拔的香樟树尽收眼底，碧绿碧绿的草坪上开满了红艳艳的.紫荆花，还立着一个标志牌，上面写着“小草青青，笑意盈盈; 爱护花草，你我有责。”
再一直向前走几分钟，我们来到了游乐园。哇！玩的东西真多啊！我和妈妈一起玩了花伞飞扬、太空漫步和勇敢者之旅。最让我流连忘返的是花伞飞扬，它的外形就像一把圆形的伞，上面有猴子、熊猫、猪猪、老虎等很多动物的图案。哦！我明白了，它为什么叫“花伞飞扬”了。接下来，我和妈妈就去体验一下“飞扬”的感觉，一坐上去，花伞就开始转动了，速度由慢到快，我像一只快乐的小鸟在太空中自由自在地飞翔。
不知不觉地到了晚上，街道两旁早已灯火辉煌，我们依依不舍地离开了花卉园。

今天，我和爸爸、妈妈去商店买了一盆仙人掌。那个盆子虽然不大，可是还可以多放一棵仙人掌，于是我便叫妈妈再多买一棵。我把这两棵仙人掌放在房间的窗台上，天天盼着它们长大，想看看动物中的“刺王”——刺猬与花中的“刺王”——仙人掌，它们到底有什么分别？可它偏偏跟我过不去，一连过了好几个月，只会懒洋洋地睡大觉，这可把我给气坏了，这样下去，我什么时候才能看见你的真面目啊，我气得真想把它扔掉。
转眼间到了七月，它终于开始长出尖尖的牙齿。我高兴的跳了起来，不禁暗自庆幸，幸好我没把它扔掉。它的毛是绿色的，这可不是一般的绿，是绿得鲜红，绿的发亮。每天放学回来写完作业，我的眼睛就会有点疲劳，但是，当我一欣赏那盆绿色的仙人掌，眼睛便光亮多了，可能是仙人掌那绿色的光，当我闭上眼睛时那绿色的仙人掌又呈现在我心中。从此每天我做完作业不用再去看那仙人掌了，只要闭上眼睛想我心中的仙人掌，就像仙人掌在我面前笑着，在那时我也笑了。那两盆仙人掌给我带来了多少帮助啊？直到现在我数也数不清楚。
我爱那盆绿色的仙人掌，它的一生给我带来了无限的欢乐。
